Raw: Cena's dad target of Orton's anger
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

The biggest "but not necessarily the best" party of the summer is over; will there be any effects of a hangover on Monday as RAW comes to us from Boston? And on another note from last night, people are saying Orton got "Ortoned" last night; you think he would have seen that coming.

Speaking of Orton, he kicks off the show in the ring. He says he spent the entire day in church, because last night he witnessed a miracle, as John Cena left SummerSlam with the WWE title. Orton has had an epiphany. He should be WWE champion. Cena needs to thank the Lord he survived, because next time he won't be so lucky. Orton then demands a rematch, and calls out Cena.

The champ doesn't waste any time answering the call. Cena hugs his dad in the front row before facing Orton in the ring. Cena tells Orton he failed to get the job done. Cena says he will get another title shot, just not right now. The champ wants Triple H, if the GM will book the match.

General Manager William Regal walks out and says Cena will not be facing Triple H, or Randy Orton. Cena will take on King Booker. With Cena distracted Orton goes for the RKO, but Cena throws him from the ring.

Match #1 -- Mr. Kennedy vs. Jeff Hardy

Kennedy and Hardy tie up to start and Kennedy gets in a cheap shot on the break. A slap fight ensues, and Kennedy takes a time out in the corner. Kennedy beats on Hardy and smashes him into the turnbuckle. Hardy lifts Kennedy over the top rope and kicks him off the apron with a low drop kick, and then hits a baseball slide.

After the break, Kennedy has Hardy in a body scissors. Hardy fights his way free, but is slammed into the ringpost by his ribs. Kennedy stomps away on Hardy in the corner. Hardy catches a knee in the mid-section. Kennedy locks in a abdominal stretch, and then sets him up in the corner. Hardy elbows Kennedy to the mat, and follows with a whisper in the wind. Hardy hits a side Russian leg sweep, and a low drop kick in the corner. Hardy climbs the turnbuckle but Kennedy gets his knees up on the swanton. Kennedy goes for the cover, when Umaga hits the ring. Kennedy leaves the ring, and Umaga picks up Hardy. Umaga kicks Hardy in the face, and the hits the whiplash, as Kennedy urges him on from ringside. Umaga then hits the Samoan Spike.

Winner via DQ: Jeff Hardy

Coach wants to know what Vince McMahon is going to announce on the Cabana. Vince tells him he can wait, when Kennedy walks by. Mr. Kennedy wishes Vince a happy belated birthday. Vince says he is a nice kid, but he walks funny.

Carlito's Cabana

Carlito introduces Mr. McMahon to the ring. Vince says its pleasure to be here. Carlito wishes the boss a happy birthday. Vince tries to say he's 50 years old. Vince says he can't be intimidated, so he's going to sue this woman for emotional distress. Carlito sucks up to the boss, but is interrupted by the Game.

Triple H comes to the ring and picks right back up with the DX shtick, almost getting Vince to say, "I love co.." Vince tells Triple H he hates him and leaves the ring.

Carlito tears into Trips, yelling he should respect Mr. McMahon. Carlito threatens to put HHH back on the shelf. Carlito spits apple at Triple H. Hunter responds with a right hand and then a spine buster, before hitting him with a spinebuster.

Match #2 -- Cody Rhodes, Brian Kendrick and Paul London vs. Daivari and The World's Greatest Tag Team

Daivari hits Kendrick with and elbow, and then gets him in a waist lock. Daivari knocks London off the apron, but Kendrick gets the tag to Rhodes. Kendrick and London hits TWGGT with suicide dives threw the ropes. Rhodes climbs the turnbuckle and hits a crossbody and the covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Cody Rhodes, Brian Kendrick and Paul London

Cryme Tyme comes out to gives Daivari some trouble. They tell him no one understands him, but everyone understands money, money, yea, yea. JTG steals Daivari's head gear and sells it to someone in the crowd. Cade and Murdoch have seen enough and head to the ring. They want a fight. Instead, JTG and Shad run off with Cade's hat, and then toss it into the crowd.

Coach is telling Vince Triple H need to punished when Randy Orton busts in. Orton demands that Vince overrule Regal. Vince wants Orton to show him he deserves another shot.

Match #3 -- Maria vs. Beth Phoenix

Phoenix attacks Maria before the bell. Maria tries to fight her off, but Phoenix sets her up on the turnbuckle and hits her with an uppercut. Phoenix then hits a delayed fisherman's suplex. The ref orders Phoenix to leave the ring.

No Contest

The Grish asks WWE women's champion Candace Michelle how she feels about Beth Phoenix. Candace says she'll take on any challenge. Snitsky interrupts saying it's a challenge to know when to stop hurting people.

Vince tells Coach he'll get to the bottom of this son issue by next week. William Regal comes in with news, but doesn't want to say it in front of Coach. Regal informs Vicne that next week the whole family is showing up to confront Vince and they are bringing attorneys.

Match #4 -- John Cena vs. King Booker w/ Queen Sharmell

Booker and Cena lock up, and the champ forces Booker into the corner. Booker breaks free with some hard knees. Cena smashes Booker into the turnbuckle and then hits a bulldog. Booker kicks out of the pin, and then kicks Cena. Booker telegraphs a move, allowing Cena to hit a modified fisherman's suplex. Cena hits a drop toe hold and locks in the STFU, but Booker is able to crawl to the ropes to break the hold. Booker rolls out of the ring as we go to commercial.

We return to find Booker dominating the champ. Cena goes down after a shot to the face. Cena fights back, but crashes into the turnbuckle. Booker hits a heel kick, but only gets a two count. Booker returns to using fists, but Cena counters a possible axe kick with a spinebuster. Cena then runs into a big boot. Booker nails a sidewalk slam. Booker goes back to work on the champ's shoulder. Cena powers out, and picks up Booker for the F-U. Booker slips out, and kicks Cena in the temple. Cena dodges a scissors kick, and takes down Booker. Cena gets Booker in the corner, when Randy Orton runs in.

Winner via DQ: John Cena

Booker and Orton double team the champ and Orton hits the inverted backbreaker. King Booker the crowns the champ with a scissors kick. Booker leaves the ring, as Orton stalks Cena. Orton looks for the concussion kick, but instead slips out of the ring, and pulls Cena's dad out of the crowd. Orton kicks Cena's dad in the head, and then walks back up the ramp. The champ quickly goes to check on his father as the show goes off the air.
