Morrison loves the mirror

John Hennigan has no problem sliding into his John Morrison schtick. That's because it's really him, the way he really is, insists the ECW champ, who will defend his coveted crown against CM Punk at tomorrow night's WWE Summer Slam pay-per-view.

Of course, it isn't Hennigan's first gimmick. He recently dropped the Johnny Nitro moniker. Previously, he was Johnny Blaze and Johnny Spade. He seems to have found his niche as "The New Face of Extreme" and "The Guru of Greatness."

"(The change) was my idea," Morrison says. "Johnny Nitro was a great character, but John Morrison is really me. I'm not acting. I had to do it (and move to ECW) to emancipate myself from the chains that bound me to RAW.

"Every wrestling brand needs a leader. That's me. People now watch ECW to watch John Morrison. It's not surprising that people want to watch me. I'm very attractive and athletic ... the girls want my body, they want to have sex with me."

Morrison says he'll dispose of Punk tomorrow.

"CM Punk is a great challenger, but he's not a champion," Morrison says.

"He's really just not as good as me. He reminds fans of themselves. They don't have the chilled abs, they can't afford the fur coats, they've got the cheap tattoos and bags under their eyes because they didn't get enough sleep."

Morrison obviously likes the spotlight.

"When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Macho Man Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect," he says. "They were wrestlers who liked the attention.

"Society has too many limits. And I always pushed those limits growing up."

SUMMER SLAMMIN': John Cena vs. Randy Orton will headline the Summer Slam pay-per-view. Other matches: The Great Khali vs. Batista; Triple H vs. King Booker; Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero; Umaga vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Carlito; Kane vs. Finlay and a Divas Battle Royal (winner earns a women's title shot).

AROUND THE RING: Several sources are reporting that former ECW wrestler Chris Hamrick was the fake Triple H on RAW ... How does Santino Marella have a job in WWE? Could it be that Marella (real name Anthony Corelli, U.S.-born), who wrestled in OVW as Boris Alexiev, was repeatedly slapped by Jim Cornette one day? WWE wouldn't have been worried about a lawsuit, would they?
