The return of the king of the ring
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

The King of Kings could be heading for a royal confrontation. Triple H, sidelined since January with a torn right quadricep, is likely to return to action on Monday Night RAW ... and it would seem like he's heading for a showdown with a guy wearing a crown, King Booker. To further confuse matters, Jerry (The King) Lawler will be "coronating" King Booker on the show.

It seems likely that the D-Generation X schtick will quietly go away, perhaps for good ... andTriple H will resume his King of Kings gimmick. A lot of wrestling scribes dump on Triple H ... or Mr. Stephanie McMahon.

But forget that the guy is the husband of the boss' daughter. He has plenty of charisma, plenty of talent and he's well spoken. I'm sure he has plenty of "stroke" with his father-in-law ... and he'll likely be a world champ one day soon, but he's a helluva lot more talented than some of the leviathans WWE regularly trots out to the ring.

THE SON ALSO RISES: It was deja-vu all over again ... Mr. McMahon looking pensively into the camera, ready to step into the limo ... when Jonathan Coachman appears and tells the boss that papers have been served ... and, Mr. McMahon has an illegitimate son. PW Insider suggests the "son" is none other than Mr. Kennedy ... Kennedy.

ASSISTANT COACH: Speaking of Coachman, he has been replaced as RAW's GM by William Regal. McMahon ordered a battle royal on RAW, with the winner getting the GM's job. Regal won with some chicanery, knocking The Sandman over the top rope.

WHACKAPAC: It's official. Suspended Tennessee Titans defensive back Pacman Jones has joined TNA. And not just to sit on the sidelines. Jones, apparently, will wrestle tag team matches. Now I like a lot of what TNA does. I like several of the wrestlers. I like the storylines. But this is plain stupid. I've got to think they're paying this thug plenty of cash. Maybe they'll pay it in $1 bills so he can "make it rain" on some "dancers" in a night of strip club glory.

HARD JUSTICE: Among the matches on tomorrow night's TNA Hard Justice pay-per-view: Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe; Team 3D vs. The Steiners; Rhino vs.James Storm (bar room brawl); and LAX vs. Voodoo Kin Mafia.

HEEL, HEEL: It looks like Santino Marella is heading for some heel-dom. The whiner was beaten by Ron Simmons in WWE's version of The Dating Game. Damn!
