Impact: Feuding Angles and a new Test
CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
TNA is gearing up to serve some Hard Justice, but before that can happen, Impact takes centerstage. On this edition, Abyss and Sting team up to take on AJ Styles and Christian Cage in a tag team ladder match. If Team Abyss wins, Abyss gets to go one-on-one with Cage, but if the Christian Coalition pulls out the victory, Cage will be able to avoid facing "The Monster." Will the Coalition prevail, or do Sting and Abyss have something up their sleeves? Read the report and find out.
Samoa Joe was shown arriving to the Impact Zone. The last edition of Impact was then recapped. Christian Cage was shown with Jim Cornette, who wanted to know what happened when Abyss was pulled underneath the ring. Cage played it off, but Cornette felt as though he knew something. Cornette then set up a tag team ladder match for the main event, pitting Christian Cage and AJ Styles against "The Monster" Abyss and Sting. If Abyss wins, he gets Cage in a match of his choice at Hard Justice. If Cage wins, he gets to avoid Abyss. Cage tries to fake an injury to get out of the match, but Cornette doesn't give in.
Kurt Angle was then shown arriving, with his wife carrying his belts and his kids carrying the bags. Cage approched them and said that maybe Angle's wife could carry Tomko's belt as well.
Match One - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Eric Young and Chris Harris
Team 3D double teamed and showed their new-found mean streak. Dustin Rhodes came out and took Harris out of the match, leaving Young to get 3D'ed and finished off with a Spike Piledriver.
Winners Via Pinfall - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)
Ms. Brooks and Robert Roode were on their way out to the ring as TNA went to a commercial break. Back from the break, it was shown that Roode beat down Young. Roode then grabbed some honey and poured it on Young, saying that he doesn't get embarassed. He then poured some feathers on the honey, essentially tar and feathering Young. He left off by telling Young that it pays to be Roode.
Jeremy Borash was with Samoa Joe who said that he had a big opportunity ahead of him and he would go through Angle's wife and kids if he had to. Back from another commercial break, and Jeremy Borash was shown with the Angle family. Kurt basically bossed them around and told them to get their acts together, because they needed to be perfect if they wanted to be associated with him. Mike Tenay and Don West ran down Angle and announced that Bound for Glory would be taking place in Atlanta, GA. Cool deal.
Match Two - Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal vs. XXX (Senshi and Christopher Daniels) w/ Elix Skipper
XXX was pretty dominant here, working the double teams and just pounding away on Dutt and Lethal. Skipper got involved and allowed Daniels to hit the Uranage on Lethal, followed by a Warriors Way courtesy of Senshi for the win. After the match, XXX and The Motor City Machine Guns faced off, hinting at their possible feud. Could be pretty good.
Winners Via Pinfall - XXX (Senshi and Christopher Daniels)
Sting and Abyss commented on the ladder match, saying that they weren't going to fall for any more tricks and that retribution was going to begin. Kurt Angle was with Kevin Nash who continued his counseling. They basically made fun of Angle's wife until she left.
Match Three - Ladder Match - Abyss and Sting vs. Christian Cage and AJ Styles
Abyss jumpstarted this one, going after Cage and Styles on the floor. After some back and forth action and a commercial break, Tomko came out to interfere, but was stopped short by "The Punisher" Andrew Martin. Martin came in and cleaned house on the Coalition, allowing Abyss to climb the ladder and retrieve the contract. After the match, Martin, Abyss and Sting celebrated as the Coalition took off.
Winners Via Retrieving The Contract - Abyss and Sting
Back from commercial break and Jeremy Borash was with Abyss, Sting and Andrew Martin, who said that he came to TNA because he doesn't believe in what Christian Cage has been doing. He says that he is serving notice that he is the new enforcer of TNA. Kurt and Karen Angle made their way out to the ring. Angle talked about how great he was to his wife and kids. He told his wife to explain what it was like being married to him and to say how wonderful he was. She wouldn't budge and he began to berate her until Samoa Joe came out. Joe ran down Angle, as Karen Angle took the mic and began expressing her true feelings. Kurt took the mic back away from her and said that he didn't care what she had to say. Joe gave it back, telling him that he cared. Karen proceeded to yell at Kurt and tell him that their marriage was over. Karen left, as Angle yelled, then begged for her to come back. Joe told Angle that he has lost everything, but those two belts and at Hard Justice, they would be gone too. He told Angle that the only thing he would have left were those clothes on his back, unless Joe could take those too. Joe then beat down Angle and went to rip off his Armani suit, before Angle slid out of the ring and took off. Joe stood tall with the belts as the Impact Recap played and Impact came to an end.
