Impact: Christian Coalition topples Abyss
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

The Christian Coalition continues to expand, with the addition of Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks, who on the last edition of Impact helped Christian Cage avoid Abyss. On this edition of Impact, Cage's proverbial sidekick, AJ Styles is set to go up against Abyss in a No DQ encounter. Will the Christian Coalition be able to stop "The Monster?" Read the report and find out.

The show began with a recap of the last edition of Impact. Leticia was in the back with the Christian Coalition and Christian Cage's personal security staff. Cage said that after the last edition of Impact, he has come to terms with the fact that TNA is an unsafe working environment. Cage explains that is the reason why he has hired his own security staff. Robert Roode and AJ Styles bickered over who was going to get the job done for Cage, as Roode was set to take on Sting and Styles was set to take on Abyss. Roode promised AJ that he would keep up with his end of the bargain, but asked Styles if he could do the same.

Match One - No DQ Match - Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks vs. Sting

This was pretty much a brawl, with Eric Young coming out in Sting paint to help counteract Ms. Brooks. After some back and forth action and a commercial break, Roode was in control of Sting. Ms. Brooks went to give him a chair, but it was taken away by Young, allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Deathdrop on Roode for the win. After the match, Young celebrated with Sting as Roode showed his anger towards Brooks.

Winner Via Pinfall - Sting

Mike Tenay did a pre-taped interview with Dustin Rhodes who said that his bad side is ready to come out. They showed some clips of Kurt Angle at his psychiatrist's office talking about how he was always great. After a commercial break, they came back with more of Angle's yammering. He said that his wife and kids know that it is a privilege to be with him or else they can hit the curb.

Match Two - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Another good back and forth encounter. Shelley and Sabin used their quickness, but it was no match for the brute strength of LAX, who hit a Doomsday Gringo Cutter to pick up the victory.

Winners Via Pinfall - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Team 3D came out next and called out The Steiner Brothers. Back from a commercial break, Brother Ray was still calling out The Steiners, who finally arrived and said that they come out on their own terms. 3D mocked The Steiners and talked down to them for missing their match at Slammiversary. Scott Steiner showed off his scar and said that he loves the Puerto Ricans because they saved his life. He thanked the staff that helped him make a full recovery and challenged 3D to a match on their terms. The James Gang came out next and joined in on the fun, leading to a four on two beatdown on The Steiners. The Steiners took a beating including a 3D, with Rick getting choked out by the Puerto Rican flag. LAX then came down and cleaned house, standing tall with The Steiners as 3D and The James Gang backed off. In the back, Angle was still having his shrink session. Turns out the psychiatrist is Kevin Nash and he tells Angle that he is ready for his turn on the tanning bed.

Match Three - "The Monster" Abyss vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Styles came charging at Abyss and got some shots in before getting tossed off by "The Monster." Back from the commercial break and Styles is back in control. However, Abyss was able to find the opportunity he needed to fire back, hitting Styles with the Shock Treatment for a two count. Styles and Abyss exchanged the upperhand, leading to Abyss reversing Styles into a Black Hole Slam for a two count that was broken up by Tomko. Tomko goes to help Styles, the lights go out and when they come back on Sting is there. He helps Abyss in taking down Styles and Tomko. Abyss goes out and grabs his bag of tricks, but is pulled under the ring. Roode comes out next and helps Tomko and Styles in beating down Sting. Abyss comes out from under the ring in a pool of his own blood as Christian Cage stands above him on the ramp and pours down the broken glass. Tomko then slammed Abyss onto the broken glass. The Christian Coalition then brought Abyss back into the ring, with Styles pouring out some tacks. Tomko then slammed Abyss onto the tacks, allowing Styles to take the cover and get the win. After the match, the Christian Coalition celebrated together, with Styles and Roode both trying to hug Cage.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
