RELATED STORY: Mr. Kennedy goes over in Niagara Falls

When you think of wrestling's legends -- guys like Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin come to mind.

There's another guy itching to add his name to the list. Ken Anderson -- Mister ... Kennedy ... Kennedy.

"When I stepped into the ring for the first time in an old J.C. Penney shopping centre, one light hanging above the ring ... the guy training me told me I'd never be successful," said Mr. Kennedy. "I remember thinking, 'You're wrong.'

"One of my biggest influences was Steve Austin and I have always thought I could get to that level. I want my name to be cemented up there (with all the big stars)."

After winning the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania, Kennedy lost the title shot to Edge. A triceps injury forced Kennedy to the sidelines.

"I took a (Batista) clothesline," said Kennedy. "I felt such a sharp pain that I knew something was wrong. I had an MRI and was told that I might be out for 6-7 months. I went to Dr. James Andrews. He told me there wasn't a tear. I'd be out for 4-5 weeks.

"I'd been wrestling with a severely sprained ankle, a sprained thumb and I'd broken my nose -- all in one match against Matt Hardy. It's a rough schedule. We don't get vacation. So (the time off) has been perfect. I've spent some quality time with my girlfriend. We've been riding our mountain bikes 15 miles a day and decorating our new house (in Minnesota)."

Kennedy will see Andrews on Monday and hopes to get the green light to return.
