Saturday Night's Main Event spoilers

TORONTO - The resurrected Saturday Night's Main Event comes to
Toronto for the first time and fans couldn't be happier to get two shows for the price of one
as Raw will follow. Will this version of SNME live up to its past glory? Only one way to find out so onto the spoilers!
The Air Canada Centre was slow to fill up but by the opening bell of the
first televised match the place was jammed to the rafters.
Dark Match: Chuck Palumbo vs. Tyson Dux
Palumbo now rides down to the ring on a motorcycle in what I assume is
an attempt to make people forget about his Billy & Chuck days. Not too much
to this one as Palumbo hits a variety of power moves including an impressive
stalling suplex. Boring chants quickly start as Tyson works a sleeper hold.
Chuck unveils a new finisher, which is setup like a Canadian back breaker
but involves him spinning the body down to the mat.
WINNER: Chuck Palumbo
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler will be calling the SNME action tonight
and The King receives an ovation of "Jerry" chants.
A video recapping Triple H's torn quad injury and pumping his pending
return elicits a positive audience reaction.
During the course of the night SLAM! Wrestling had the opportunity to
speak with two fans sitting nearby. Heather Baxter and Crosdale Proudlove
are newer WWE followers who were thrilled to be attending their first live
event. When asked about the difference between watching on television and
being at a show in person Crosdale enthusiastically replied, "I love the
whole atmosphere. TV is good, but this is out of this world!" Heather's
favourite Superstars are John Cena and Bobby Lashley, "Lashley's awesome
because he's so athletic and brings that traditional, old school style." To
cap the exciting evening off for the pair, Crosdale was even able to catch a
John Cena shirt that was shot out of a cannon during a commercial break.
The matches this evening are obviously filmed out of order because the
first contest will most definitely be the main event. Please note that
seeing *Biz* in a sentence indicates a typical Toronto crowd "Bizzaro Land"
moment.
Non-title: John Cena (c) vs. The Great Khali
A different Diva will introduce each match and Ashley has the first
honours. Khali's size is awe inspiring in person as he is absolutely
massive, and for some reason they filmed him walking out twice. Cena starts
throwing haymakers right off the bat, until he hurts his back trying for the
FU. *Biz* Every Khali strike on Cena has the audience erupt in his favour
and prompts him to raise his arms in appreciation. The big man hits an
overhead chop, follows it up with a two-handed chokeslam, and a one-foot
pin. His translator then states that Khali is taking the title at One Night
Stand.
WINNER: The Great Khali
Kristal comes out to announce:
Vince McMahon vs. Bobby Lashley- Arm Wrestling Contest
Toronto shows love for Vince as well as Lashley. *Biz* Of course what
would a trip to Toronto be without the standard "you screwed Bret" chant?!
McMahon stalls the start, then grabs the mic and introduces Mark Henry to
take his place. The two lock up and after a short struggle Henry sucker
punches Lashley. The ECW star rebounds with a spear, however, Vince sneaks
in a chair shot to the back and this ends the encounter.
WINNER: No Contest
Backstage, Maria interviews Edge who gets a thunderous ovation. The
World Heavyweight champion refers to himself as "The Greatest." Torrie
Wilson is now in the ring to announce:
Batista & Chris Benoit vs. MVP & Edge
The Animal still has his right leg heavily taped and remains super over
wherever he goes. Benoit receives a strong Canadian homecoming welcome, but
is announced from Atlanta, which brings on a scattering of boos. *Biz* The
world champion seems legitimately taken aback by the standing ovation and
he soaks it all in on the entrance ramp. MVP and Benoit square off first
with Benoit slapping on The Crossface for a few moments right away. Edge
ducks out as soon as Batista enters, blind tagging his partner to escape.
Edge high tails it once Batista almost catches him later on in the match-up
leaving MVP for dead. A Batista Bomb and Benoit flying headbutt later and
the U.S. champ was finished.
WINNERS: Batista & Benoit
Candice Michelle then struts out to introduce:
Finlay & Hornswaggle vs. The Boogey Man & Little Boogey Man
The two full size combatants start things off with Boogey taking the
lead after a Manhattan drop. Little Boogey is tagged in, slaps around a
kneeling Finlay, and even nails a mini DDT! The crowd pops big for
Hornswaggle and the two Irishmen link arms to do a dance together.
Hornswaggle lures big Boogey up the ramp long enough for Finlay to clock the
little one and pick up the win.
WINNERS: Finlay & Hornswaggle
The Extreme Expose (Kelly Kelly, Layla, and Brooke) dance in the ring to
the new Timbaland song. Hornswaggle and Little Boogey interrupt with the
Irish sidekick putting Brooke up on his shoulders and Boogey picking up
Layla. The two ladies push each other while elevated and that's about it.
Michelle McCool makes her way to the ring to announce:
Kane, Doink The Clown & Eugene vs. Kevin Thorn, Viscera & Umaga
I think the babyface team got the short end on this matchmaking choice.
Doink and ECW's Kevin Thorn get going with Thorn putting the boots to his
opponent following some early clown taunting. Different variations of heels
are taking it to Eugene and fans are getting restless as this less-than
thrilling battle continues. Kane finally connects with a one-foot chokeslam
on Viscera for the three count.
WINNERS: Kane, Doink & Eugene
