Countdown to TNA Sacrifice

Rather than go for a cheap laugh and bring up a Mother's Day joke, we'll stick
to the mat wars in our preview today.
There is, however, a motherly feel to Sacrifice. Just like mom told you things
repeatedly when you were a child, we're repeatedly getting the same matches
on TNA events. This one's no exception. Russo and crew would be well-advised,
however, to listen to other words from mom instead - try something new!
We'll see if they can get it right for Father's Day. Until then, let's take
a look at Sacrifice.
Bob Kapur
NWA World Heavyweight Title - Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sting
Too many chefs spoil the broth - this should be a singles match between Sting
and Angle with the winner getting a shot later. Cage sneaks in a win.
NWA World Tag Team Title - Team 3D vs. LAX vs. Tomko/Scott Steiner
I understand they may not want to have another PPV with 3D facing LAX after
the Lockdown electric cage experiment. But adding in Tomko and Steiner? Yeesh.
Team 3D retain.
X-Division Title - Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal
This one could be really good, assuming they keep Bob Backlund and Kevin Nash
away from it. Lethal's on fire right now, so look for him to capture the gold.
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
Wow, they've lost all momentum with Joe - he should really be in the title
scene, not mired in a meaningless undercard match. Still - match of the night.
Joe wins.
Texas Deathmatch - Chris Harris vs. James Storm
Every great feud has a legacy match - ie: one that people remember for years.
Hopefully this will be theirs, because neither of them deserve it to be the
lousy blindfold match. Harris wins.
Jeff Jarrett vs. Robert Roode
It's good to see Roode get the rub from a main eventer like JJ. He's long
overdue for great things, hopefully this can kickstart things a bit. Somehow,
Roode gets the win.
Christopher Daniels vs. Rhino
This should've been combined with AJ/Joe, because there aren't nearly enough
multi-man matches on this card... not. Maybe Daniels will finally reveal what
his new character is supposed to be. He wins.
Greg Oliver
NWA World Heavyweight Title - Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sting
I don't see Angle winning the belt quite yet - it should be in a singles match
if it happens. But I can see Sting getting the belt again. However, I'll pick
Cage to retain.
NWA World Tag Team Title - Team 3D vs. LAX vs. Tomko/Scott Steiner
You don't build and build and build to a run with the NWA (er,
soon to be TNA) tag belts for Team 3D and then have them lose the next PPV.
Team 3D retains.
X-Division Title - Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal
It's sad how the X-Division has been pushed down card. Still, this should
be a good match. Lethal is overdue now that he's found his stride. I'll take
him in a bit of an upset.
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
What does this match actually mean? It smells of being thrown together. Samoa
Joe makes AJ tap out.
Texas Deathmatch - Chris Harris vs. James Storm
Hello ... hello ... anybody care about these guys? Harris I guess.
Jeff Jarrett vs. Robert Roode
Is Jarrett one of the backstage people high on Roode? If so, then
Roode wins. If he isn't, then Jarrett does.
Christopher Daniels vs. Rhino
Another thrown-together match. Daniels takes it.
Matt Mackinder
NWA World Heavyweight Title - Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sting
Angle and Sting concentrate on each other, leaving the door open for Cage to
pull some sort of chicanery and keep his title.
NWA World Tag Team Title - Team 3D vs. LAX vs. Tomko/Scott Steiner
Team 3D just got the belts, so I would assume they can't drop them just
yet. Never assume. I like LAX regaining the titles.
X-Division Title - Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal
I love the X-Division and think Sonjay is very underrated. He's a future
champion, just not tonight. Black Machismo, however, is over huge right now
and gets a title run starting here.
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
Another classic in the making. These guys are awesome together. I'll pick
Joe here.
Texas Death Match - Chris Harris vs. James Storm
All I know is that this feud has run its course. Someone needs to get a clean
win. I say it'll be the Wildcat.
Jeff Jarrett vs. Robert Roode
A guitar shot from Double J gives the former NWA champ the victory, but Eric
Young may also lend a hand.
Christopher Daniels vs. Rhino
Daniels' new gimmick is pretty solid. Rhino has a knack for putting guys
over and he continues that trend with the Fallen Angel. Daniels wins.
Jon Waldman
NWA World Heavyweight Title - Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sting
I think this marks the first time, by the way, that Canadians have been on
top of the top 2 North American promotions at the same time. That stat will
increase by a few days after tonight, when Cage retains. The only other thing
I could see is some sort of schmoz with the title held up after so that the
Orlando boys can do a tournament to crown a first-ever TNA Champion.
NWA World Tag Team Title- Team 3D vs. LAX vs. Tomko/Scott Steiner
Tomko and Steiner add nothing to an equation that has been played out for way
too long. Hopefully the OVW Connection will be brought up in the title picture
quickly. Team 3D takes this one.
X-Division Title Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal
If Sabin drops the title here I'll wretch. This crew needs a serious injection
of new blood. Time to raid RoH again...
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
Speaking of RoH, this reeks of being a big _ you to Ring of Honor. Of course,
it's a TNA match, so it wouldn't be nearly as awesome. Joe must go over here.
Texas Death Match - Chris Harris vs. James Storm
Are they still fighting each other? Geez. Their split has lasted longer than
the M*A*S*H* interpretation of the Korean War. I don't care who wins, just end
it already!
Jeff Jarrett vs. Robert Roode
It's Russo, folks. There's going to be a swerve, no questions asked. Jarrett
takes the guitar shot from Eric Young.
Christopher Daniels vs. Rhino
Daniels deserves better. He'd better win here.
