Raw: Khali back in title picture
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

RAW is back in the states, coming to us from Nashville, Tennessee, and Vince McMahon is ECW champion!?! I miss one pay-per-view and this is what happens!

Vince runs into John Cena backstage and tries to talk the lingo with the Champ. Cena tells Vince ECW stands for Extremely Crazy White guy. Shawn Michaels interrupts and wants another shot at the title. Cena is more than willing to oblige, but Vince throws his power around and tells HBK he has to earn a shot by wrestling John Cena, again. Vince gives a "peace out," as Cena and Michaels agree that Vince has lost his mind.

Match #1 -- Edge vs. Randy Orton

Edge slaps Orton in the face. Orton responds with right hands, and whips Edge into the ropes. Edge stops himself and slips from the ring. Orton catches Edge with a thumb to the eye. Orton stomps away at Edge and then drops a knee. Orton chokes Edge on the ropes, and then beats on his former partner in the corner. Orton knocks Edge off the apron into the security barrier.

After the break, Orton is slammed shoulder first into the ring post. Edge then sends him flying off the apron onto and over the announce table. Edge drags Orton back into the ring, and hooks the leg. Orton kicks out at two. Orton fights out of a head lock, but runs directly into a reverse heel kick. Edge climbs the turnbuckle but is cut off, but Edge recovers headbutting Orton off the turnbuckle. Edge leaps from the top, but Orton counters with a drop kick. Both men hit the mat, but get to their knees at eight. Orton nails an inverted back breaker. Orton hits a power slam, but can't get the pin. Orton ducks a clothesline, and then both men attempt a cross body block, and both hit the mat. Edge pulls the cover off the turnbuckle, but is caught by the ref. Orton rolls him up, but Edge counters into a pin, and Orton kicks out. Orton mounts Edge, but Edge counters with a modified snake eyes. Edge pins, but the ref catches him with his feet on the ropes. Orton is able to get a pin, but also gets caught with his feet on the ropes. Edge counters an RKO with an impaler, but still can't get the pin. Orton dodges a spear, and Edge connects with the turnbuckle. Edge blocks an RKO, and explodes into Orton with a spear. Edge covers and gets the three count.

Winner via pinfall: Edge

Todd Grisham sits down with Santino Marella in his first interview since winning the Intercontinental Title two weeks ago. Marella still can't believe he won, and he's excited and nervous for his title defense next week.

Last night RVD went on a rant about Vince McMahon winning the ECW Title. Van Dam called it a loss for the original spirit of ECW.

Vince is forcing ECW storylines on RAW now. Vince tells his son, Shane, to make sure Umaga beats the stuffing out of RVD. Vince then thanks Shane for last night, and Shane tells his dad he loves him.

Maria tries to interview Edge. She wants to know why Edge is angry. Edge rips the mike from her hand, and says he didn't lose last night, and he just beat Orton, so he is going to force himself into the title picture. And he doesn't care if people don't like it.

Match #2 -- Jeff Hardy vs. Nitro

Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch join King and JR. Murdoch admits that they lost fair and square and they are all about sportsmanship. Nitro punches Hardy and slaps on a chin lock. Cade says they will earn another shot, and Murdoch gives the Hardys props. Jeff dodges a corner charge, and hits Nitro with a whisper in the wind. Hardy hits a face first suplex, but only gets a two count. Jeff backdrops Nitro off the top turnbuckle, and hits the swanton bomb. Hardy covers for three.

Winner via pinfall: Jeff Hardy

After the match, Cade re-announces Jeff as the winner, and says he and Murdoch want to shake hands with him. Jeff walks away from Cade and Murdoch and heads to the back.

Shane-O-Mac dances out of the back and heads to the ring. Shane announces Umaga.

Match #3 -- Umaga w/ Shane McMahon vs. RVD

The match is in progress after the commercial, and RVD attacks with kicks, but gets pushed off the top turnbuckle. Umaga brings RVD back in the ring, and drops a leg. RVD punches away at Umaga, only to end up on the wrong end of a Samoan drop. RVD tries to slam Umaga, but instead falls back under the weight of the Samoan Bulldozer. RVD leapfrogs Umaga in the corner and slaps on a sleeper hold. Umaga finally breaks free by dumping RVD over the top rope. Umaga follows him, and RVD slaps on another sleeper. Umaga breaks the hold by slamming RVD into the ring steps. RVD avoids the count out, only to get head butted by Umaga. RVD avoids a butt charge in the corner, and tries for a sunset flip. RVD can't get him over, but avoids getting dropped on. RVD ducks a clothesline, and hits one of his own. RVD hits a thrust kick off the top rope, and follows with rolling thunder. Umaga powers out of the pin. RVD avoids a splash in the corner and hits another thrust kick. RVD climbs the turnbuckle and hits the five-star frogsplash, but Umaga catches RVD by the throat. Umaga hits the Samoan Spike, and pins RVD.

Winner via pinfall: Umaga

Carlito apologized to Ric Flair for yelling at him last week, and tonight they will take in the World's Greatest Tag Team. Carlito says if they lose Carlito will get out of Ric's hair. Torrie looks worried.

Michaels is assaulted in the back, and no one knows who did it. Coachman blames the champ, and Cena slams him into the wall. Vince wants answers and Coach is out to find him. Vince tells the EMTs that he wants HBK in that ring tonight.

Match #4 -- Carlito and Ric Flair w/ Torrie vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team

Flair chops away at Haas in the corner. Carlito tags in, and Haas drives him into the opposite corner. Benjamin tags in, and Carlito hammers away at him. Benji avoids the springboard, but Carlito lands on his feet. Haas tags back in and hits a back breaker. Carlito fights his way out of the corner, but is taken down by Benjamin. Carlito is dropped over Haas' knee, but fights back. Flair gets the hot tag, and chops away at Shelton. Carlito drop kicks Hass out of the ring, and Flair back drop Benjamin. Out of nowhere, Carlito clotheslines Flair, and Carlito beats on him. Flair chases down Carlito on the ramp, and the two brawl. Carlito breaks away and runs off.

Coach finds Edge knocked out at his locker. He wants to see Randy Orton right away.

Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring, as JR wonders why he is here. (I'm guessing he's here to cash in his money in the bank.) Kennedy says he didn't take out Shawn Michaels or Edge. Kennedy asks the crowd if they want to see him cash in his money in the bank, tonight. The crowd goes wild, but Kennedy says it's not going to happen. Kennedy questions Edge's MITB decision, so tonight he's going to give us the time and the place. Kennedy announces he will cash in the MITB at Wrestlemania 24.

Coach finds Randy Orton knocked out in the shower. The plot thickens.

Coach apologizes to Vince for not being able to figure out who attacked all the top stars. Vince wants Coach to get Cena and go to the ring. Then they will come face to face with the person who has been taking out superstars.

Match #5 -- Victoria and Melina vs. Mickie James and Candice Michelle

Candace rolls up Victoria and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Mickie James and Candice Michelle

More ECW originals voice their displeasure over Vince winning the ECW Title.

Cena heads to the ring and grabs a mike. Cena says someone is trying to make a statement and get his attention. The champ says if you want some, come get some. After a moment, The Great Khali walks out and heads to the ring. Cena takes the offensive, but his strikes have no effect. Khali tosses Cena into the ring, and kicks him in the side of the head. Cena blocks the over head chop, and gets Khali up for the F-U. Khali elbows his way out, and hits the double handed choke slam. Khali picks up the belt, and poses over Cena.
