Impact: Champions collide in main event
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

After a heavily weighed down PPV, TNA should be swinging for home runs with their next couple of Impacts. Anything TNA can do to counter the awful PPV would be a plus. To TNA's credit they have a solid main event booked for this Impact as Christian Cage and Abyss team up to challenge Team 3D for the NWA Tag Team Championships.

The show began with a recap of the last edition of Impact as well as a recap of Lockdown. Don West hyped the card as Mike Tenay stood in the ring and introduced Jeff Jarrett. Double J came out and told Tenay that after taking some time off to reflect, he realized that he had to change. He said that Sting left and changed and thats what he needed to do. According to him, it was time to give back. Kurt Angle came out and said that Jarrett didn't give him anything, claiming that he had to take all the heat from his partners and the fans for putting Jarrett on the team. Angle felt he should've been the one to get the title shot. Jarrett said that he didn't have to do anything for Angle and that Sting was just in the right place at the right time. Angle threatened Jarrett as Sting came out and ran down Angle, saying that he and Jarrett were veterns and that if it weren't for them, Angle would be a Gold Medal gym teacher. Sting says that on the next edition of Impact he will go one-on-one against Angle and the winner gets the title shot.

In the back, Team Cage was happy that Christian Cage and Abyss were getting a tag title shot, but at the same time they warned Abyss that this was his last chance. They mocked Abyss some more as Abyss took in all the abuse.

Match One - Rhino vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles

Styles and Joe exchanged momentum back and forth throughout this one, with Rhino and Daniels going at it. The end came when Rhino slammed Daniels down, he went for the Gore, but was whacked with Daniels' baseball bat. Daniels made the cover and picked up the big win. Afterwards, Styles and Joe continued to fight, with Joe cleaning house.

Winner Via Pinfall - Christopher Daniels

In the back, Jeremy Borash caught up with Kurt Angle who said that Sting made a huge mistake. Angle said that he was in his prime and that he was going to take the title shot away from him. Jackie Moore caught up with Gail Kim and the two brawled throughout the Impact Zone. After a commercial break, Robert Roode Inc. came out, leading too...

Match Two - Chris Harris w/ Gail Kim vs. Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks and Eric Young

Lots of outside interference attempted by Ms. Brooks, Eric Young wanted none of it. It was announced that at Sacrifice it would be Chris Harris vs. James Storm in a Texas Death Match. After some back and forth action, Roode was able to hit Harris with his own handcuffs and pick up the victory. Afterwards, Ms. Brooks and Young argued, with Young shoving Brooks again. Roode came out and slapped Young. He asked Young if he was mad that he beat his friend at Lockdown. Young said that Petey Williams wasn't his friend and refused to reveal who it was. Roode says that Young must reveal his friend by the next edition of Impact because it pays to be Roode.

Winner Via Pinfall - Robert Roode

In the back, James Mitchell was shown yelling at Abyss, saying that if he did not bring home the tag gold, his mother was going to prison. Papparazzi Productions returned with Alex Shelley, Kevin Nash, "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. Dutt came out out like Diesel and was noticably pissed, claiming that Nash had nothing for him and that he was just becoming a joke. Konnan joined Mike Tenay and Don West on commentary as a recap of the Electrified Steel Cage Match at Lockdown was shown.

Match Three - NWA Tag Team Championship Match - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) (C) vs. Christian Cage and Abyss w/ James Mitchell

Pretty solid main event, with Cage and Abyss getting in their shots on Team 3D, but ultimately falling apart. The match turned into an all out brawl, with Abyss getting shoved into Cage, knocking Cage out of the ring and to the floor. While groggy, Abyss turned around and caught a 3D that led Team 3D to victory. After the match, Cage got up and yelled at Abyss.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL NWA Tag Team Champions - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

Back from the commercial break, and Cage is shown still yelling at Abyss. Abyss finally took enough and grabbed Cage by the throat. Mitchell told Abyss to let him go, which he eventually did. Mitchell then slapped Abyss and got grabbed around the throat as well. Team Cage came down to beat on Abyss, who fought back. Mitchell whipped out a phone and threatened to call the police, only to get hit with a Black Hole Slam. Abyss went for the thumbtacks, but was overwhelmed by Team Cage who beat him down and busted him open with chairs. They also took a barbed wire baseball bat and whacked him on the arms with it, ripping him open. A Conchairto finished him off as Team Cage celebrated of the broken down and bloody Abyss.

The Impact Recall played, closing out another edition of Impact.
