Impact: The return of Double J
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Team Angle has guaranteed that a final member will be added to the team on this edition of Impact. Will Kurt Angle be able to deliver on his promise, or will Team Cage have the advantage going into Lockdown? Read the report and find out!

Jeremy Borash opens up this edition of Impact, but is interrupted by LAX. Konnan and the gang say that they have a big surprise in store for Team 3D later on. They recapped the last couple of Impacts and then shot it to the Impact Zone where Kurt Angle greeted his partners in the ring. Angle and Sting exchanged signs of respect. Samoa Joe then stepped up and questioned Angle as to who the fifth partner was, Angle told Joe not to question his integrity and said that the fifth partner would be introduced at the end of the show.

The TNA Intro came on, leading to... Kevin Nash! That's right, Kevin Nash was in the Impact Zone to introduce "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal. Lethal came out looking like Randy Savage in 1993 WWF color commentator gear. Lethal did his trademark "Oooo Yeah!" Chris Sabin then came out, leading to...

Match One - Non-Title Match - "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal vs. Chris Sabin

Very entertaining contest here. Back and forth action, with Sabin nearly pulling out the victory. Lethal fought back with the Lethal Combination and hit the "Macho Man" elbow drop to pick up the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped the Lockdown card and pitched it to Leticia in the back. Leticia was with Team Cage who was unhappy about Sting joining Team Angle. While there was some tension between the members of Team Cage, Christian himself appeared confident. He took some more shots at Abyss, asking if he washed his mask. Abyss grunted, again showing signs of frustration. There is a lot going into this Lockdown main event, should be good.

Jay Lethal is in the back with Kevin Nash, continuing his impersonation of Randy Savage. Sonjay Dutt came decked out "Italian Style." Oh goodness. Eric Young was then shown in the back with Robert Roode. James Storm came in to chat with Roode about his match with Chris Harris, while Roode was worried about his match with Petey Williams. Roode shoved Young into the corner of the room and told him to stay there. Young obeyed Roode as Petey Williams and Gail Kim entered the Impact Zone.

Match Two - Petey Williams and Gail Kim vs. Robert Roode and Jackie Moore w/ Ms. Brooks

This was a pretty standard contest. The match broke down with James Storm running out, Gail Kim pounding on Jackie Moore and Roode rolling up Williams amidst all the confusion. Afterwards, Roode, Storm and Moore went to attack Williams and company, but Chris Harris made the save. He went to hit Moore, but was attacked from behind by Storm. Eric Young came out with a steel chair, but Roode forced him to put it down.

Winners Via Pinfall - Robert Roode and Jackie Moore

In the back, Jeremy Borash was shown trying to chase down Christopher Daniels who wouldn't answer his questions. LAX was shown kidnapping Brother Runt and flashing a gun in front of him. After a commercial break and some plugs for Lockdown and their House Shows, a recap of the LAX/Team 3D feud was shown. After that, LAX was shown in the ring with Runt. Konnan reveals a taser gun to the taped up and beaten down Runt. LAX went to shoot him with the taser gun, but Team 3D came out and asked them to leave Runt of this. Konnan denied the request and shot Runt as Team 3D charged the ring with security to help him.

Back from another commericial break, Tenay and West showed a recap of Brother Runt getting pulled from the ring. They then hype Lockdown again and show a package about the Main Event.

Match Three - Winner's Team Gets to Enter First at the Lockdown Main Event - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles (Team Cage) vs. "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe (Team Angle)

Another great match here. Lots of counter-for-counter action. Styles and Joe landed several kicks on one another. The ref got knocked out and was down when Joe locked Styles in the Rear Naked Choke, forcing him to tap out. Team Cage came out, but was stopped by Team Angle. The two teams brawled as Styles and Joe got up, Jeff Jarrett made his return, he teased hitting Joe with his guitar, but instead whacked Styles with the guitar and officially joinined Team Angle. With Styles down, Joe made the cover and got the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe

The Lockdown Rundown played to round out another edition of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and fully expected the Jeff Jarrett return.
