Impact: Angle's team grows by one
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Team Cage is in paradise while Team Angle is in turmoil. As of last week, Team Cage is complete and set for Lethal Lockdown, while Team Angle is struggling to obtain two more partners. Will Angle be able to pull it out, or does "The Instant Classic" have the Olympic Gold Medalist in a predicament he cannot get out of? Read the report and find out.

The show began with a recap of last week's edition. In the back, Leticia caught up with Team Cage who continually asked when they were going to get their title shots. Cage played them off and said that they needed Tomko to take out Rhino in their Eight Mile Street Fight.

Match One - Eight Mile Street Fight - "The War Machine" Rhino vs. Tomko

This one started out in the back, with Rhino charging at Tomko. Tomko pretty much dominated Rhino on the outside, throwing him from the stands back into the ringside area. Tomko had things going in his favor until Rhino started to power back, Abyss came down and accidentally hit Tomko in the face with a steel chair, leaving him prone to the Gore! Gore! Gore! Rhino was beaten down after the match, the rest of Team Angle tried to make the save, but were overpowered by Team Cage.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The War Machine" Rhino

There was a huge gathering in Jim Cornette's office, with various stars complaining. Cornette stopped the bickering and said that he would announce all the Lockdown matches during an in-ring meeting at the end of Impact. The meeting was deemed mandatory. As he was throwing everyone out of his office, Gail Kim stormed in and started beating down Jackie Moore until they were separated.

In the back, Team Cage was shown celebrating. Christian Cage told his team that they were going to go party, but that Abyss had to stay behind and clean up and learn what it means to be a team player. Abyss began to freak out, but James Mitchell reminded him that his mother was just a phone call away from going to prison. Team Cage left as Abyss destroyed the locker room.

Match Two - The VKM (BG and Kip James) w/ Lance Hoyt vs. LAX ("The Notorious 187" Homicide and Hernandez) w/ Konnan

Christy Hemme and Lance Hoyt got into it before the match started. Back and forth match until the Latino Nation jumped in causing the DQ. Team 3D charged the ring and cleaned house, accepting the challenge of LAX to an Electrified Steel Cage match at Lockdown.

Winners Via DQ - The VKM (BG and Kip James)

In the back, Jeremy Borash caught up with Team Angle who was in disarray. Samoa Joe and Rhino were mad at Angle for not having another two partners. Angle said that by the next edition of Impact he would have a full team. Rhino and Joe alluded to the mystery partner Angle said he had, but Angle refused to reveal who it was.

Papparazzi Productions showed Kevin Nash turning Jay Lethal into the Macho Man and Sonjay Dutt into Oz. Awesome. Back in the locker room area, Jeremy Borash caught up with Kurt Angle who said that he will have a full team for Lockdown by the next edition of Impact, without a doubt.

Match Three - Submission Match - The Austin Starr vs. Senshi

Good main event on Impact. Starr didn't pay any attention to Mr. Backlund who was doing the Harvard Step Test at ringside. The end came when Starr locked in a half crab on the injured leg of Senshi. Backlund threw in the towel on behalf of Senshi to prevent any further damage from being done to his knee. Afterwards, Starr tried to put Mr. Backlund in the Crossface Chickenwing, but it was reversed. Senshi then picked up the towel and threw it at Backlund, upset that Backlund cost him the match.

Mike Tenay showed a package that highlighted Sting's trials and tribulations with Abyss. Sting was very upset with how things turned out and said that he needed to go home and look in the mirror and admit that he failed. Great promo by Sting, probably his best yet in TNA.

Jim Cornette stood in the Impact Zone and ran down the card for Lockdown. He announced a Five-Way Xscape Match for the X Division Title featuring Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, Alex Shelley and Shark Boy. Next up was Robert Roode vs. Petey Williams. Jerry Lynn vs. Christopher Daniels followed that. The special challenge match was re-announced with The Austin Starr taking on Senshi with Mr. Backlund as the guest referee. Chris Harris vs. James Storm in a blindfold match. Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore in a Ladies Steel Cage match. They also re-announced the Electrified Steel Cage match for the NWA Tag Team Championships between Team 3D and LAX. Finally Cornette ran down the Lethal Lockdown match between Team Cage and Team Angle. Cornette asked Angle if he was going to have a full roster going into Lockdown and Angle assured him that he would. Christian Cage stepped in and led Team Cage to the ring. Cornette told Cage that he was filling his team's head with lies because he can't hand out title shots, that's Cornette's job. Cornette then said that whoever scores the winning decision in the Lethal Lockdown match from either team will get a Heavyweight title shot at Hard Justice. Cage complained then said that the stipulation wouldn't hold up if Team Angle didn't make it till Lockdown. The lights went out and came back on to reveal Sting who cleaned house and officially joined Team Angle.

The Impact Recap played, thus ending another edition of Impact.
