It's getting hairy, even for Austin
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

The Donald vs. The Vince.

Vanity vs. vanity.

Billions vs millions.

And ... hair vs. hair.

WWE's shameless, but effective, publicity stunt keeps gaining steam heading into Wrestlemania, with Stone Cold Steve Austin thrown into the middle of the fracas as guest referee when Trump's representative, Bobby Lashley, goes to war with McMahon's hand-picked assassin, Umaga.

The Vince hit the deck after being shoved over a table by The Donald during Monday Night RAW. You've gotta think the shears will be lopping off McMahon's helmet when the dust settles. It wouldn't make sense any other way. Then again, this is wrestling script writing, not rocket science.

ROCK AND ROLL: The Rock has come back to WWE -- at least via video. It was a pleasant surprise and a highlight of RAW to see The Rock weighing in on the McMahon and Trump challenge. The Rock said he knows what Umaga means in Samoan: Shrivelled-up monkey penis. He asked McMahon how he was going to beat Trump with a shrivelled-up monkey penis. Brilliant stuff.

DESTINATION X: LAX won a Ghetto Brawl over Team 3D; Senshi beat Austin Starr; Voodoo Kin Mafia beat The Heartbreakers; Rhino beat AJ Styles in an Elevation X match; Kurt Angle pinned Scott Steiner; Sting won a Last Rites match over Abyss; and Christian Cage pinned Samoa Joe.

HALL-OF-FAME DEATHS: "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd, a star NFLer and wrestler, and manager Arnold Skaaland both died this past week. Skaaland was 82, while Ladd, 62, was struck down by cancer.

BRAND NEW: WWE's pay-per-views won't be brand exclusive, beginning with April 29's Backlash. So you'll see ECW, Smackdown! and RAW matches sprinkling each pay-per-view.

RAISING KANE: Add Kane vs. The Great Khali to the Wrestlemania lineup. Doesn't it make sense that The Undertaker vs. Batista would be the main event? With The Undertaker keeping his Wrestlemania undefeated streak alive and winning the title strap from Batista.

PUNKED OUT: If you want to see the talent of CM Punk, so far misused in WWE, check out an old episode of Ring of Honor on The Fight Network. Punk is brilliant in the ring and handles himself very well with the microphone, too.

FUJI IN: Mr. Fuji will join WWE's Hall of Fame.
