Test turfed by WWE
By MATT MACKINDER - SLAM! Wrestling
Test has become the latest casualty in WWE as the company released the ECW wrestler today.
No reasons were given, but it is widely believed that Test (Andrew Martin) was in hot water for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy several weeks back and earning a 30-day suspension.
Then last Friday, Test was involved in a car crash in Tampa, Florida when he reportedly lost control of his Corvette and hit a parked car. No one was injured and he passed a field sobriety test.
Test was part of the "new breed" of ECW and his arrival was heavily hyped last year. He was recently part of a program with ECW champion Bobby Lashley, but lost in three straight TV matches -- two on ECW on SciFi and another at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
The 31-year-old Whitby, Ont., native also participated in the Extreme Elimination Chamber at the December To Dismember pay-per-view and was eliminated by eventual winner Lashley.
While with WWE, Test held the Hardcore, Intercontinental and European titles. Probably best known for his "engagement" to Stephanie McMahon, Test was also part of the T & A tag team along with Albert and manager Trish Stratus.
