NOAH star crowned ROH Champ

Japanese wrestler Takeshi Morishima defeated ROH World Champion Homicide in a match in Philadelphia to win the title in front of a stunned crowd at Pennsylvania National Guard Armory.
The match, the main event of the second night of Ring of Honor’s Fifth Year Festival, saw the challenger hit Homicide with a pair of suplexes and a lariat before hitting one final suplex for the win. The match was Morishima’s second appearance in Ring of Honor. On February 16th Morishima lost to Samoa Joe. Morishima regularly competes in Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan.
Homicide won the title in New York City at ROH’s annual “Final Battle” event on December 23rd and has had successful title defenses against Chris Hero, Samoa Joe and Jimmy Rave.
Morishima will make his first defense of the championship in Dayton, Ohio on February 23rd against B.J. Whitmer.
