Canadian fans forced to wait for WSX
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM Wrestling

Canadian television viewers eagerly anticipating the January 30 launch of Wrestling Society X are now saying they want their MTV, after the northern version of the popular entertainment channel announced earlier today that the show's debut would be delayed.

MTV Communications Manager Emily Young Lee made the announcement today in a release that stated that, "the premiere season of Wrestling Society X has been pulled until further notice from MTV's schedule."

The announcement comes just days before what was supposed to be the premier of the series, which blended music and wrestling. In 2006, MTV ran successful pilots of the project and announced that a full series had been picked up. The official debut is still slated for January 30 on MTV's U.S. station, though reports, including The Wrestling Observer's Monday update, posted by Bryan Alvarez, indicate that the initial broadcast would be this coming Friday at 11pm Eastern/Pacific.

There was also confusion that arose as print and onscreen cable guides began to show that the half-hour broadcast would be airing on Saturday nights. Young Lee confirmed the error to SLAM! on Tuesday.

Wrestling Society X's roster includes the likes of Sean Waltman and Canadian stars Vampiro and Teddy Hart.
