Impact: Sting's a thief, Angle's crazy
CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
Kurt tapped out! Kurt tapped out! Kurt tapped out! Those are the chants that should ring through the Impact Zone after Samoa Joe finally forced Kurt Angle to give in at Turning Point. However, Angle is already looking for Joe and is hoping to exact revenge on Impact. Also on tap, NWA Heavyweight greats collide when Abyss takes on Ron Killings. Will Impact deliver? Read on to find out.
Kurt Angle kicked off the show running around backstage looking for Samoa Joe. He bumped into Jeremy Borash and threw him against the wall, questioning him as to Joe's whereabouts.
From there we got a recap of the Angle/Joe match from Turning Point. Without a doubt, the best match on the PPV.
Back to the Impact Zone, Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks were in the ring. Roode was disgruntled over Ms. Brooks' loss in the Bikini Contest to "Showtime" Eric Young. Roode demanded that Young come out and sign a contract with Robert Roode Inc. Kurt Angle came out instead and told Roode and Brooks to take a hike. Angle called out Joe and told him that he wanted his chance at redemption. Joe popped up on the TNA Tron and denied Angle's request. Joe said he was going for the NWA Heavyweight Championship and that was it. Angle snapped and went over to Don West, locking him in the Ankle Lock as security swarmed. This was great.
The Impact intro played and then things shot back over to Mike Tenay who said that "thw show must go on." This lead to...
Match One - "The Monster" Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings
This was a good opener. Ron Killings certainly deserves to be in this type of position as he once was on a regular basis. While the match was going on, Don West was being carted out of the Impact Zone. Killings avoided getting hit with the Shock Treatment, he fought back with some kicks until James Mitchell got involved. He chased Mitchell around and ran into a Black Hole Slam that gave Abyss the win. Sting watched on from the rafters like usual. It's good that Sting is being used to put over guys like Abyss, it really helps his credibility as a champion and that's important.
Winner Via Pinfall - "The Monster" Abyss
Jim Cornette came out to join Mike Tenay on commentary as Latisha stood by with Christian Cage and Tomko in the back. Cage said that if Abyss didn't give him his rematch that he would air his dirty little secret. Eric Young and Ms. Brooks came by. She was offering Young a contract with Robert Roode Inc. when Kurt Angle came in and grabbed Young, asking him where Joe was.
Another Serotonin promo came on. Just keep putting them out there, they're meshing well together.
The PCS Series continued with a push-up contest and all the regular hilarity that goes along with Kevin Nash. Nash called it the Bob Backlund push up contest, with Shelley claiming that Backlund was there in spirit. Nash put a 'I'm on steroids' sign on Dutt's back while he was doing push ups. Again, these segments have been highly entertaining. Lethal won. Nash told them all to kiss the winner, however, Shelley was the only one that made a motion to do so. Ha ha.
Match Two - "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. Petey Williams
Back and forth match with Petey Williams eventually getting the better of Daniels. Chris Sabin came in and grabbed the X belt, Jerry Lynn followed, only to get kicked in the head by Daniels. With all this going on Williams recovered and rolled up Daniels for the victory.
Winner Via Pinfall - Petey Williams
In the back Kurt Angle put Mark "Slick" Johnson in an Ankle Lock as he continued his quest to find Samoa Joe.
VKM re-issued the million dollar challenge to DX. This is just getting ridiculous, give it up.
While Mike Tenay and Jim Cornette were talking, Kurt Angle came back out and grabbed So Cal Val and threw her into the ring. Angle once again demanded his rematch. Jim Cornette intervened and set up a tag match for the next edition of Impact, that would pit Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle on opposite teams. Angle told Cornette that it better happen, or he would be next on Angle's victims list.
They recapped what happened at Turning Point between LAX, AMW and Gail Kim. They then shot over to Borash who was in the back with AMW and Gail Kim. Chris Harris said he was so disappointed at how things went down at Turning Point and said that they would get redemption. James Storm apologized for how he acted and said that they were going to take the tag titles from LAX.
Match Three - NWA Tag Team Championship Vs. Team Break Up - LAX w/ Konnan (C) vs. AMW w/ Gail Kim
The match started off as a war. Just out and out brawling. When things finally got under control it was all Homicide. Storm came in and chased Homicide out of the ring with a beer bottle. He helped Harris up and then cracked him with the bottle. Gail Kim and Petey Williams questioned Storm as Homicide came back in and covered Harris for the win, thus ending the partnership of AMW.
Winners Via Pinfall and STILL NWA Tag Team Champions - LAX
Back from break, clips of Petey Williams yelling at James Storm were shown. This is like the fourth time they split up isn't it?
Christian Cage and Tomko came out and were about to air Abyss' big secret when "The Monster" came out and began cleaning house as James Mitchell cheered him on. Abyss wiped out Earl Hebner, Andrew Thomas and Rudy Charles before Sting came down and tried to save him again. Abyss listened to Sting and grabbed James Mitchell, but let him go. Sting took off and stole the belt in the process, closing out another decent episode of Impact.
