Countdown to TNA No Surrender
By SLAM! Wrestling Staff

Well, it's a moment of truth of sorts for TNA this month, as No Surrender has two headlining stories. First, it's Samoa Joe's streak up against Jeff Jarrett; second, it's Dixie Carter's blockbuster announcement.

Of course, there are a few other interesting elements here, including the first-ever Tag Team Ultimate X match and a few other good bouts. Let's take a closer look at No Surrender.

Grudge Match (Fan's Revenge)

Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe

SLAM! Predictions

Bob Kapur

Personally, I think they should have built up a Jarrett-Joe match and saved it for something special instead of a throwaway gimmick match. The fans' involvement seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Joe wins.

Matt Mackinder

Joe is the obvious future (and present, really) of TNA, but Jarrett has a way of staying in the spotlight. This match is unique and I like it. I think this goes back and forth before the fans become too much and Jarrett falls to the Muscle Buster. This is finally the push Joe needs to be not just a star, but a bona fide superstar.

Jon Waldman

This is classic lose-lose booking. Either Joe loses his streak or Jarrett loses cred going into the title match next week. The best case scenario is for Joe to beat Jarrett, Jarrett to come out and say it was a fluke because of the fans, Cornette to disagree and insert Joe into the title match at the next PPV. The x-factor here, as mentioned on the LAW last week, is that there are fans who would like nothing more than to beat the holy hell out of Jarrett with straps. Jarrett really could come out of this with serious, serious injuries.

Jason Clevett

What a waste. Samoa Joe finally gets in the ring with the champion... and its non-title. They've blown it and even a main event slot doesn't matter when the focus is 100% on Bound for Glory. How can Jarrett stay strong going into BFG if he loses to Joe, but how will fans revolt of Jarrett is the one to end Joe's winning streak? Joe has to take this one with some kind of Sting shenanigans.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH (ULTIMATE X)

LAX vs. AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels

SLAM! Predictions

Bob Kapur

LAX are 'mucho caliente' right now, so I don't think they should lose the belts already. I like the buildup to this feud, though I'm still not sure I like to see Daniels nor Styles floating around in the tag team division - though, to be fair, what else can they do with these two? LAX wins with help from Konnan.

Matt Mackinder

The easy pick would be Styles and Daniels regaining the titles and that may happen. This feud is one of the best TNA has had in a long time and there’s no end in sight. I say LAX retains somehow and the feud continues at Bound For Glory in my backyard.

Jon Waldman

Well, in a way AJ and Daniels have to win, because they really can't go anywhere else. Both are past the time of the X-Division and the NWA title scene is pretty packed. Unless TNA creates a secondary heavyweight title, they're staying a team. The WCW alumni get their belts back.

Jason Clevett

This will be the show-stealer. LAX retains but its going to be a hell of a match with a great backstory.

  X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH

Chris Sabin vs. Senshi

SLAM! Predictions

Bob Kapur

Sabin could really use the X-Title to recover from the dud that was the Kevin Nash experiment, but Senshi needs a few successful defences, otherwise the meaningfulness of the title will be lost. Look for the champ to retain.

Matt Mackinder

Senshi is underrated in my book. He was good as Low-Ki, but much-improved now. Sabin might be mired in the undercard a bit, but a win here catapults him into the upper echelon of TNA. Outside interference might come into play, but I like Sabin here.

Jon Waldman

I've always liked Sabin and feel that he's high enough profile to bring the X-Division away from what was the Nash era. It's too bad that TNA couldn't hold onto CM Punk, because a follow-up feud between those two would be wicked. Senshi gets pinned here after the Cradle Shock.

Jason Clevett

After the destruction of the X-division by Kevin Nash, its going to take a bit to rebuild it. Senshi and Sabin is a good start but I wish TNA would pull the trigger on Alex Shelley. He is awesome and really could be the guy to rebuild the belt.

UNDERCARD

SLAM! Predictions

Bob Kapur

Rhino vs. Christian Cage - This should be a fun one. Christian is always solid, and Rhino has been really delivering solidly lately. Cage loses by DQ or countout.
Triple Chance Tag Team Battle Royal
- The Naturals will finally make Shane Douglas proud. Also, AMW finally breaks up - it's been teased long enough - not doing it now threatens to make the whole thing become a giant parody of itself.
Dixie Carter's announcement will be...
- Rumours say it will be the return of Vince Russo - even as I typed that, my head was shaking, "no, please no."

Matt Mackinder

Rhino vs. Christian Cage - From main-eventing to the undercard goes Cage. Rhino juices and Cage wins.
Triple Chance Tag Team Battle Royal
- Good to see Hoyt back. This is the last of AMW. The Naturals take it.
Dixie Carter's announcement will be...
- Goldberg arrives!

Jon Waldman

Rhino vs. Christian Cage - Rhino won't win until it's a hardcore match between the two.
Triple Chance Tag Team Battle Royal
- The Naturals need the win here more than anyone.
Dixie Carter's announcement will be...
- TNA gets two hours and a new timeslot. Get ready for the Friday Night Wars.

Jason Clevett

Rhino vs. Christian Cage - While thrown together, there is a good backstory here and I am expecting a really good match out of these long time friends. Christian takes it.
Triple Chance Tag Team Battle Royal
- Er, um, The Paparazzi, cuz Shelley and Devine are awesome.
Dixie Carter's announcement will be...
- Two hours on Spike? Please? Just don't use the initials VR in the announcement.
