WWE has long touted the adage of, "never say never," when it comes to former stars returning to the fold, and they have proven this credo to be true once again.

On Friday, the Fed announced through their website that they had re-hired Jeff Hardy, as well as signing former Diva Search contestant Rebecca DiPietro and inviting other Search participants Maryse Ouellet and Brooke Adams to, as noted on wwe.com, "observe workouts and the training facility at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW)."

Hardy's re-signing ends months of speculation that the former Hardcore, Intercontinental, European, Light-Heavyweight and Tag Team Champion would re-sign with WWE once his contract expired with TNA. Hardy was originally released from WWE in May 2003 after failing a drug test and refusing rehabilitation. Prior to his dismissal, Hardy had been working primarily in the singles ranks, which included a memorable ladder match against The Undertaker for the then unified Heavyweight Title.

Hardy, however, is arguably best known for his days in WWE as a member of Team Xtreme with brother Matt and Lita. As a tag team, the Hardy Boyz were one of the top duos in the Attitude era, having multiple memorable bouts with the likes of Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz.

Nearly a year after his departure from WWE, Jeff Hardy found himself in NWA-TNA (now simply known as TNA) and became an instant main-eventer with the young company. He had several highlight bouts against Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and also had several memorable matches against and tagging with AJ Styles.

DiPietro was cut from the WWE $250,000 Diva Search this past Monday, while Ouellet was voted out of the competition earlier. Adams did not make the list of the final eight competitors.
