ECW: Battle of the giants
By MATT MACKINDER - SLAM! Wrestling

First Ric Flair on ECW television and now the Undertaker? Give your head a shake, Vince.

This "new breed unleashed" of ECW is more like a new breed of WWE, only guys are now kissing guys (read on). But tonight, the biggest main event in this revamped ECW has world champion the Big Show defending against a former tag team partner in the Deadman.

This week's show, from Corpus Christi, Texas (home of former New York Rangers defenseman Brian Leetch by the way), opens with a recap of the carnage that went down between Show, Undertaker and the Great Khali at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Kelly's Exposé opens the show and I'm happy to report that her strip song is posted at the bottom of the screen. In case some of you are anal like me and want to know the song, it's Chelsea by Stefy. Mike Knox interrupts, blah, blah, blah.

In the ring, Knox says that his beating at the hands of the Sandman last week is her fault and that she will never strip in public again. Knox's beatdown is then shown. Knox calls out the Sandman and tells Kelly to watch from his corner.

Match # 1 Extreme Rules - The Sandman vs. Mike Knox

Knox attacks the former Hardcore Hak at the bell. The action spills to the floor where Sandman gets choked with a camera cord. Sandman regroups, grabs his Singapore cane and goes to nail Knox, but Knox shields himself with Kelly and the buxom blonde takes the brunt of the attack and is out cold. Back in the ring, Knox kicks Sandman twice below the belt and gets the three count. Kelly is stretchered out and Knox leaves the ring without her.

Winner via pinfall: Mike Knox

A short vignette is shown hyping Shannon Moore, who will be known as "The Reject."

Paul Heyman comes to the ring with his police escort and calls the crowd his children and says they are confused about what's going on in ECW with the suspension of Rob Van Dam and what not. Tommy Dreamer hits the ring and demands an explanation, but all he gets in return is a huge kiss on the lips from Heyman! Test attacks Dreamer with a boot to the head and then executes his airplane spin/neckbreaker maneuver.

Balls Mahoney, who looks pretty ugly this week, cuts a promo saying he's nuts and he doesn't fit into society what with a name like Balls Mahoney. He says that's how he likes it.

Match #2 Sabu vs. Stevie Richards

A rematch from SNME, Sabu shows he can actually wrestle by nearly pinning the former Right To Censor frontman with a backslide and then with a schoolboy roll. The chant "We Want Tables" emanates, but Sabu instead hits a springboard tornado DDT and makes Richards tap to the Camel Clutch.

Winner via submission: Sabu

C.M. Punk, still not wrestling on ECW TV, gives another promo on how he's trained all over the world and wrestling is his greatest discipline. Great, now have Vince put you in the ring!

The Vampire appears next and asks the tarot card reader, Ariel, what's in the cards for tonight's main event. She picks up a card and says it's the death card for the Big Show. The Vampire then bites her neck and leaves a trail of blood behind. Well, this IS the Sci-Fi channel, folks.

Big Show highlights are shown since he ventured to ECW and that leads us to the main event. Wanna bet Khali shows up? You'd be a moron not to think so.

Match #3 Extreme Rules - ECW Champion The Big Show vs. The Undertaker

The match starts out a slugfest with both former WWE champs kicking and punching. Show clotheslines 'Taker over the top and that's the cue for a commercial break.

Back in the ring, Show is down to one knee, but as Undertaker bounces off the ropes, Show launches himself at Undertaker with a big-time spear. Undertaker can still sell and put guys over, that's for sure.

More back and forth punching and kicking until both men go to the floor. Enter Khali. Undertaker goes right for him and they end up in the ring. Undertaker clonks both giants with a chair, until all three are back on the outside.

As the Deadman was preparing to send Khali through the announce table, Show and Khali combined to give Undertaker a double chokeslam through the table a la Kane and Big Show last fall with Batista. Khali stood over Undertaker with his arms raised and let out a deep shriek as the show went off the air.

Winner: No Contest
