Countdown to TNA Victory Road
By SLAM! Wrestling Staff
TNA is headed down Victory Road one more time.
Some wrestlers, after tonight, will be on the highway to glory while others
will be left stranded. Some will break through barriers, while others will swerve
to avoid controversy. The only thing we know for sure is that this will definitely
not be a road less travelled for the top stars of Total Nonstop Action. Let's
take a look at highlighted bouts.

MAIN EVENT: NWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
#1 CONTENDER'S MATCH
Christian Cage vs. Scott Steiner vs. Samoa Joe vs. Sting |
| |
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
Let's do this by elimination. Joe is building to the main spot, but needs a
little more cred in the big bout. Christian Cage and Sting seem destined for
a feud. This leaves Steiner, who could beat Jarrett and then ultimately become
the man Joe beats for the belt.
Matt Mackinder
TNA has been teasing a potential Steiner-Jeff Jarrett angle in recent weeks
and maybe it starts here with Steiner winning the four-way. I don't think so,
though. Does Sting get one last shot at world title glory? Or is this finally
the big-time push for Samoa Joe? Something inside says Joe wins, so we'll say
the "Samoan Submission Machine." I also think Jarrett gets involved
somehow.
Jason Clevett
The evolution of Joe continues, as its time to cement him as a superstar and
put him in the top spot. Much like he did with the ROH title, Joe can ensure
main event quality matches, having stolen the show since he debuted, and is
at the point where he can carry promotion. He walks out with the win and goes
on to dethrone Jarrett.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels/Sirela vs. America's Most Wanted/Gail
Kim |
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
Is it just me, or do Styles and Daniels seem less credible with their "valet"?
This is a very WCW-ish move - thinking that a team of good wrestlers needs a
woman to get over, when they are already getting pops. Chris and AJ get the
duke.
Matt Mackinder
I like Styles and Daniels as champs. They mesh well and have the crowd on their
side. AMW is the same way. The women may be the wild card, but I like the champs
retaining. Hopefully, Styles and Daniels have a long run. I don't see it ending
here at Victory Road.
Jason Clevett
This is the sleeper match of the show. Gail Kim gets a chance to show her skills
that she really didn't get to in WWE and AMW vs Styles/Daniels is going to be
a great match. I don't expect the women to do a lot, with the potential to save
them for a full match. AMW get their win back to continue the feud.

6-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Team 3D vs. James Gang/Abyss |
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
Explain to me why we're seeing this match again? Is TNA's tag division really
this weak? Honestly, it's recycled WWE garbage like this that keeps me from ordering
SpikeTV. I really don't care who wins here.
Matt Mackinder
The feud that never dies. And that's A-OK with me. Abyss had his program with
Christian Cage and I wish TNA would have expanded on that a bit. Even so, Abyss
is mired on the undercard where he and Road Dogg and Rockabilly earn a controversial
win. What's next at Hard Justice?
Jason Clevett
Brother Runt is going to get beat up and put into thumbtacks. The James Gang take
the win.

Hair vs. Hair Match
Raven vs. Larry Zbyszko
|
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
Speaking of garbage, does anyone else see through this BS? Larry's at the point
that all men get to - the last stand of the lovely locks. This is just an excuse
for Larry Z to rid himself of what little he had left, much like Val Venis a
few years ago. Raven wins.
Matt Mackinder
Who would look better as Mr. Clean? Raven would look sick tough in my opinion,
but I'm just one person. Zbyszko may job and go cue ball. I'm not sure who wins
here. Double countout? Nah, I see Jim Cornette involved here and making something
happen. Raven wins, too.
Jason Clevett
Considering Raven nearly got scalped when he lost this stipulation a few years
ago, I can't see him trusting anyone else with shears. The blow off to this
feud finally occurs and the result is a balder Larry Zybyszko.
