Impact: Senshi claims X Division gold
By CHRIS SOKOL -- SLAM! Wrestling

You screwed Cage! You screwed Cage! The chants already broken out after Earl Hebner screwed another Canadian out of a major championship on a PPV. Slammiversary sure was a trip to the past, however there was a little twist thrown into the equation. Jim Cornette has seized the NWA belt, but will a decision about the title be made on Impact? Read the report and find out.

The show began with a recap of Slammiversary and the controversial main event. The garbage being thrown at the ring proves more than anything else, Jeff Jarrett needs to hold the title and get into another good feud, much like the one he had with Christian Cage.

Jim Cornette officially started the show in the ring. Cornette went on another tirade, saying that TNA needed some order. He told Jeremy Borash to stop digging for information, he told LAX to get on track and said that there was no NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Cornette said that Jarrett's family should be ashamed of him. Jarrett came out and complained about Cornette's usage of his family's name. He demanded he get the title back, but Cornette told him that he would have to wait till next week's edition of Impact. Figures that they are going to draw this process out. It's inevitable what the final decision is going to be.

Match One - NWA World Tag Team Championship Match - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (C) vs. The Diamonds in the Rough ("Primetime" Elix Skipper and David Young) w/ Simon Diamond

Shouldn't Styles and Daniels have some catchy tag team name? You can pretty much guess the results on this match, Simon Diamond tried to get involved, but was taken out by Jamie D. BME, followed by a Frogsplash on Young was enough to put this one in the books and keep the gold around Styles and Daniels.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL NWA World Tag Team Champions - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

Post Match - Gail Kim came out to attack Jamie D, but her attack was prevented. D went for the chokeslam, but America's Most Wanted came out and made the save. TNA should keep this feud going between Styles, Daniels and AMW. As for the women's division, where is Traci Brooks?

In Jim Cornette's office, Jeremy Borash ran into "Showtime" Eric Young who asked if Cornette was going to fire him. Borash questioned as to why Young would get fired. amidst the confusion, Jeff Jarrett stormed the office and demanded to talk to Cornette right away, claiming that he didn't need an appointment to speak with the commissioner. Young is an excellent comedic character.

Back from a commercial break, Borash was snooping in on a conversation being had by Young, Jay Lethal and Chris Sabin. Sabin told Young to go back on his meds and not worry about being fired. Jarrett came out of the office saddened by the news that he would have to wait for the title decision until the next edition of Impact. Again, a predictable move.

Match Two - "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs. Chasyn Rance

POOOOOOOOOOOUNNNNNNNNCEEEEEEEE!

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown

Konnan grabbed a mic and stopped Brown from leaving. He told Brown that he has won several Number One Contendership matches, yet he has never had the opportunity to cash in those shots. Konnan said that Brown was being held back. Brown simply walked off as Ron "The Truth" Killings came out. Konnan told Killings the same thing and offered him a spot in LAX. Killings hugged Konnan, but was jumped by Hernandez and "The Notorious 187" Homicide. LAX is building to be a great stable in TNA.

Backstage again, Borash stood outside of Cornette's office with Eric Young. Young told Borash that his career was on the line. He wanted to share some secrets with Borash as Sabin and Lethal walked out of the office with smiles. They told Young it was nothing they could talk about, but Kevin Nash was going to be very happy with what Cornette had to say. As Lethal and Sabin walked away, Young told Borash to keep their masterplan a secret. Again, how can you go wrong with Eric Young?

Back from commercial break with some more Borash. Christian Cage walked up to Cornette's door when he was asked by Borash what he was looking to get out of his meeting with the new commish. Cage basically said that he was looking to get the belt back. Sorry "Captain Charisma," but at this point, Jarrett is a red hot heel who needs to hold the belt.

In a move that was very, very, very, WCW-esque. Team 3D and The James Gang squared off in a verbal debate/diss-off. "Yo Momma" jokes were thrown back and forth as wrestlers giggled at the results. The debate grew hot and heavy, with Brother Ray punking out "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, saying that the Armstrong family sucked. The fight spilled out into the Impact Zone. The James Gang got the better of Team 3D and did a couple of crotch chops at their expense. Brother Runt hit the ring and cleaned house, allowing Brother Ray to grab a mic and challenge the James Gang and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong to a six man tag team match at Victory Road. Does "Bullet" Bob have it in him?

Once again we shot back to Jeremy Borash as Christian Cage was leaving Cornette's office. Cage told Borash that the title decision was going to be made on the next edition of Impact. Gee, couldn't have guessed that. Sting walked up, he assured Cage that they were still friends and that he would be the first one to know what results out of his meeting with Cornette.

A video package hyped the TNA Knockouts DVD. Yipeee!

Match Three - TNA X Division Championship Triple Threat Match - "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe (C) vs. Senshi vs. Sonjay Dutt

During this battle, "Showtime" Eric Young came out with a sign that said, "Don't fire Eric Young." Some good back and forth action here. Senshi is absolutely vicious. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner made his presence felt, attacking Joe with a steel chair and taking him out of the match. This allowed Senshi to take down Dutt and hit the top rope Double Stomp for the win as Joe and Steiner brawled through the Impact Zone. Joe has lost more titles without getting pinned than anyone else in TNA.

Winner via Pinfall and NEW TNA X Division Champion - Senshi

Backstage, Sting emerged from Cornette's office with a smile on his face. He told Borash that Cornette was going to work out fine because he got everything he wanted. Auspicious ending to Impact.
