Countdown to Slammiversary
By SLAM! Wrestling Staff

TNA is in a celebrating mood this month, as they commemorate another year in the industry.

Yes friends, it's time once again for Slammiversary, and once again, TNA has assembled an interesting card.

With an increased WCW presence, blending with the home-grown stars, we should be in for an interesting night. Here's what's on tap.

MAIN EVENT: KING OF THE MOUNTAIN NWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Jeff Jarrett vs. Christian Cage vs. Sting vs. Abyss vs. Ron Killings

SLAM! Predictions

Jon Waldman

Was TNA's spot on Global Impact legit or a swerve? Well, I'll go with goof-up here. There are really only two guys that can claim to be a new champ and be legit at this point - Sting or Jarrett. I have to think Sting here, hopefully for a very short run.

Greg Oliver

Since they've been hyping that the champion never wins in a King of the Mountain match, I'm picking the champion to retain. My darkhorse pick would be Abyss.

Chris Sokol

Cage has been a refreshing champion. He came in as a new face to TNA, he has had some great matches and he has delivered when it came to mic time. With all this going for him, it would look as though the title is going to say with him. However, after some careful thought, it would make sense for Sting to win the championship and prove Cage's point from Impact. New champ, new feud.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

America's Most Wanted vs. AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels

SLAM! Predictions

Jon Waldman

I was expecting a gimmick match here to end the feud, with Styles and Daniels coming out on top. For that reason, I think this will be a controversial finish, leading to a double-ladder match at the next PPV.

Greg Oliver

Will Styles & Daniels stay a team long-term? There are some interesting matches down to the road against Team 3D, the Naturals, etc., if they do stick together. So I'll play a hunch and say Styles & Daniels win the belts.

Chris Sokol

Speaking of new champions, it looks as though Daniels and Styles will finally capture tag gold together. Honestly, they can't break up and re-start their feud - that would be a step in the wrong direction. Like Cage, AMW have had a great run as champions, but Styles and Daniels are part of that leader faction in TNA, they are the "go-to" guys in the company, and now it's their turn to once again carry the torch and spice up TNA's tag team division.

  GRUDGE MATCH

Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner

SLAM! Predictions

Jon Waldman

If this match doesn't put Joe over, you might as well tag TNA as WCW version 2.0. On a night where you're potentially killing your most unique wrestlers (in the X-Division) and likely putting an old hero on top (Sting), you certainly cannot kill the momentum of your top-drawing, homegrown talent (Samoa Joe) for a broken-down, 40-plus has-been. Joe must go over big time, and I'm talking career-ending big-time here, otherwise all hope is lost.

Greg Oliver

Samoa Joe all the way.

Chris Sokol

This will, without a doubt be a hard hitting match. Both men are known for their rugged style, or as some prefer to call it, their "strong". Steiner will land a few good shots in there, but Joe will overcome them, choking out "Big Poppa Pump" and further riding his undefeated streak that started a year ago.

UNDERCARD

SLAM! Predictions

Jon Waldman

Rhino vs. Bobby Roode/Scott D'Amore - We know Rhino wins here, well, unless he is actually on his way out and headed to ECW. Methinks the latter is the case.
Team 3D vs. James Gang -
Team 3D goes ECW on DX.
Kevin Nash vs. Chris Sabin -
I want Sabin to win, I really do; but hey, Nash was on the conference call, plus he hasn't killed enough careers yet. Sigh.

Greg Oliver

Rhino vs. Bobby Roode/Scott D'Amore - Rhino wins, D'Amore pulls off a 630.
Team 3D vs. James Gang -
Team 3D claims the win.
Kevin Nash vs. Chris Sabin -
A complete waste unless Sabin wins. Hail Sabin, pick Nash.

Chris Sokol

Rhino vs. Bobby Roode/Scott D'Amore - Scott D'Amore will add some extra entertainment into what is sure to be a great match.
Team 3D vs. James Gang -
This will be a brawl. Team 3D will exact some revenge on The James Gang with a little help from Brother Runt.
Kevin Nash vs. Chris Sabin -
Nash and Shelley have done their job extremely well, however Sabin gets the rub in this encounter.
