ECW vs WWE a real free for all
By DALE PLUMMER - SLAM! Wrestling

Brand versus brand warfare doesnít really do it for me when it comes to WWE, but if itís kicking off a brand new ECW, why not? JR and King are joined by Joey Styles and Tazz as WWE vs. ECW comes to us live from Dayton, Ohio.

Mick Foley rallies the boys in the WWE locker room, while Heyman gets his crew fired up.

Match # 1 Ė RVD vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey and RVD shaken hands before match. RVD and Rey quickly dodge each otherís initial attacks. RVD dodges a crucifix, and press slams Rey. Van Dam follows with a standing moonsault. RVD plays to the crowd, only to have Rey Rey dropkick him in the back into the ropes. RVD ducks the 619. A dropkick from Rey sends RVD to the floor. After ducking a baseball slide, RVD drops Mysterio on the security barrier. Rey dodges a leg drop, and climbs the ropes and springboards onto Van Dam in the front row.

After the break, RVD crotches Rey on the ropes, and leaves him there. Van Dam climbs the turnbuckle, and nails Rey with a thrust kick, sending him to the floor. RVD sets Rey up on the apron, and drops a springboard guillotine leg on him. RVD grabs a chair, and nails Rey with a dropkick with it. RVD covers but only for two. He whips Mysterio into the corner, and bulldogs him onto the chair. After another two count, RVD climbs the turnbuckle and hits the Five-Star Frog splash. RVD covers for the win.

Winner via pin fall: RVD

After the match, RVD helps Rey up, and the two play to the crowd.

Kurt angle makes his way to the ring, with his music remixed, so not one can chant ďYou suckĒ. The former Olympic champ says he isnít upset with Randy Orton. In fact, breaking Ortonís ankle was his favorite moment, and now Orton must face an ECW Kurt Angle.

Orton walks out on stage and says he isnít afraid. He rides Angle for joining ECW, and then announces that he is back on RAW. Angel tells Orton that heís going to break his neck. Orton responds that he is going to kill the legend of ECW on Sunday; in fact itís his destiny.

Match #2 Ė Mickie James vs. Jazz

Jazz takes down Mickie with an arm drag, and then goes to work with a series of kicks. James spills from the ring, and Jazz nails her with a Thesz press. Mickie rolls back in the ring, and is hit with the Jazz Stinger. Jazz covers, but James gets her foot on the rope. Mickie follows with an impaler DDT, and cover for a three count.

Winners via pin fall: Mickie James

Todd Grisham is with WWE champion John Cena. The champ says he canít allow the belt to go to ECW, and he doesnít want to be that goat. Cena admits if he wins, there very well may be a riot, but heíll win. And tonight, heís going to make a statement.

Paul Heyman hits the ring, promoting the Pay-Per-View, and new ECW show.

Match #3 Ė ECW vs. WWE Battle Royal

This is a team match, whoever has a team member still in the ring wins. Big Show, Orton, Mark Henry, Tatanka, Shelton Benjamin, Matt Hardy, Fit Finlay, Carlito, Lashley, and Edge represent WWE. While ECW trots out Angle, Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Stevie Richards, Al Snow, Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke, Balls Mahoney, and Justin Credible.

Edge doesnít enter the ring, but helps out his team by pulling wrestlers out of the ring. After most of the dust settled, Angle is alone, facing Benjamin, Orton, Finley, Edge, and Big Show. Angle tosses Shelton, but hen walks into choke slam form Show. Angle counters into and Angle Slam, and then catapults Finlay from the ring. Edge sets up for a spear, but Angle counters into a suplex, tossing Edge from the ring. Orton takes advantage, and tosses Angel. It appears as Team WWE has won, until Show rips off his RAW shirt to reveal the ECW letters. He choke slams Orton, and tosses him from the ring.

Winner: Team ECW

Show invites Angle into the ring, and the two celebrate.

Match #4 Ė Tommy Dreamer w/Terry Funk vs. Edge w/ Mick Foley and Lita

Dreamer chases Edge off with a barb wire baseball bat. Edge ducks another attack outside the ring, but is then whipped into the steps. Back in the ring, Dreamer hits Edge with street sign, but is then distracted as Lita grabs his leg. Edge responds with a sign shot. Edge then goes on the attack with a trash can lid, and DDTís Dreamer into a trash can. A low blow slows down Edge, and the rated R superstar is hung in a tree of woe. Dreamer dropkicks a chair into Edgeís face. Funk slides a table into the ring, and Dreamer sets up for a superplex. Lita nails Dreamer with a Kendo stick, as Funk grabs her. Foley then chokes Funk with barbed wire. Edge is dropped off the turnbuckle onto his head. Dreamer hits the Dreamer Driver through the table and covers Edge. Lita breaks the pin by wailing on Dreamer with the Kendo stick. He picks her up for a power bomb, but turn right into a spear from Edge. Edge covers, with help from Lita, for the win. Funk and Foley continue to fight outside the ring.

Winner via pin fall: Edge

After the commercial Foleys is sitting in the ring, and he has snapped. He says he loved ECW, but ECW didnít love him back. He says he and Edge need to be tougher on Sunday, or they will get beaten all over New York. He says what happened at Wrestlemania is nothing compared to what will happen this Sunday. ECW stepped on his heart, and now Dreamer and Funk will learn about loss.

Lawler calls Tazz out from the announces position, and the two start swinging. Lawler goes down in one punch, but regains his footing. The fight over the announce table, as we go to break.

Match #5 Ė John Cena vs. Sabu

Cena meets Sabu with punches, and then a suplex. Sabu responds with a low blow, and then a slingshot senton to the floor. Sabu grabs a chair and throws it at Cena. The champ is tossed back into the ring, and hit with another chair. Sabu hits a triple jump moonsault, and then Air Sabu off the chair. Sabu follows with an Arabian face buster, and Cena rolls out to the floor. Sabu then nails a leg drop on the announce table, and then rolls Cena into the ring. Sabu goes for another Air, but Cena catches him, and drop him with the F-U. The champ locks in the STF-U, but is attack by Big Show. The whole locker room empties and itís a free-for-all in the ring as the show ends.
