WWE is taking wrong Angle
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun
Sometimes it's just hard to figure out what WWE is thinking. First of all, let it be known that I think WWE does a lot of good things. But what is up with Kurt Angle? It doesn't seem right that such a talented wrestler would be reduced to a sideshow -- an act that grows tired real fast. Does he have to insult and belittle U.S. troops -- some of whom have given their lives fighting for their country? A healthy Angle would make a wonderful world champion. Unless I'm wrong and Angle is writing his own material and suggested the anti-troops angle, WWE is once again heading down the wrong road, something that is happening more and more often these days. - TNA fans will get double the fun tonight, on New Year's Eve. Spike TV will air two episodes of Impact. The first show will air at 8 p.m., with another at midnight. - Monday Night RAW will be joined in progress at 9:30 p.m. due to TSN's coverage of the world junior hockey championship. RAW will repeat in its entirety on Jan. 3 at 3:30 p.m. and Jan. 7 at midnight. Look for Shelton Benjamin's "mama" to debut. - A Wrestling Observer poll named Bret Hart the greatest wrestler of the 1990s, with 41% of the vote. Shawn Michaels, ironically enough, was second with 20.8%. Chris Benoit got 11.2% of the vote, while Ric Flair got 7.3%. - The matches so far for New Year's Evolution: John Cena vs. Michaels vs. Kurt Angle; vs. Kane vs. Carlito vs. Chris Masters; The Big Show vs. Triple H; Flair vs. Edge; and Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James. - Mark Henry returned and attacked Batista on Smackdown! Fit Finlay is on the way back to Smackdown! - Here are the results from CPW's Hell for the Holidays: Hired Guns Pierre Khoury beat Canadian Psycho Wild Ace; The Freak Zakk Manson won a gauntlet match; Frank The Beast Bradley and Max Alexander beat Los Crulo Hermanos; Moonlight beat Portia Perez; Aftershock vs. MVP and Dave Titan went to a no contest as MVP joined the opposition; Thunder beat Tray Hugh Mongus and Paranoid Jake Matthews; and Wild Dangerous Dan beat Guy "The Legend" Sauriol by DQ when Sauriol smashed two beer bottles on Wild Dan.
