Impact: MMA joins the mix
By CHRIS SOKOL -- SLAM! Wrestling

After last week's rock solid Impact, TNA returns to Spike TV with a main event worthy of the attention it has recieved, as America's Most Wanted goes head to head with Team 3D. Also in action, Christopher Daniels, Austin Aires, Matt Bentley, Team Canada, 3 Live Kru and more, as TNA brings up the second edition of Impact on Spike TV.

The show kicks off with a recap of last week's debut show. Not a bad show, TNA got their point across and came off looking pretty good.

Team 3D cut a promo backstage, informing fans that this week they would be taking the next step to winning the most prestigious tag team belts in the industry.

In the parking lot, Raven was shown being hauled away by security as a result of his actions on last week's show.

Match One - Team Canada ("Showtime" Eric Young, Bobby Roode and A-1) w/ Coach Scott D'Amore vs 3 Live Kru (BG James, Ron "The Truth" Killings and Konnan)

Team Canada jump started the match, attacking the Kru from behind as Coach Scott D'Amore joined Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary. Team Canada continued to control the match as "The Outlaw" Kip James made his way to the stage to have a seat and watch the fight. BG James fought out of a side headlock by Roode, leading to the two men colliding in the middle of the ring. The match broke down with all six men going at it. Young found himself kicked off the top turnbuckle and onto the ropes, Konnan attempted to throw a shoe at him. He missed the first time, but connected the on the second attempt. Roode then came in and was caught with another shoe. As Young re-entered the ring, Killings was waiting for him, finishing off the match with a boot to the mid-section and the Scissor Kick. After the match, Team Canada began to beat down 3 Live Kru, until Kip James hit the ring, sending Team Canada scurrying. Konnan and Kip argued as BG tried to separate them.

Winners via pinfall - 3 Live Kru

From ringside, Tenay and West hyped the Team 3D vs. AMW match that will be this week's main event.

We then got a look at the Ultimate X Match, probably one of TNA's better creations.

Match Two - "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs Austin Aries vs Matt Bentley w/ Traci

Match started off with a variation of armdrags, Bentley came firing back, hitting a double neckbreaker on Aries and Daniels. Daniels returned the favor, hitting Bentley with a wicked STO. Bentley and Aries decided to team up and toss Daniels off the top turnbuckle, but the partnership did not last long, as Bentley immediately went to work on Aries. Aries headscissored Bentley to the floor, Daniels went to springboard moonsault on the two, but they dove out of the way, leaving Daniels to hit the concrete. Petey Williams then made his way to the ring and began hitting on Traci, Chris Sabin came out of nowhere and began beating on the Canadian. Bentley saw the two and hit them with a Tope Con Hilo. Aries went up to the top, but Daniels caught him and planted him with The Angel Wings.

Winner via pinfall - "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

A video package was then shown of TNA's monster, Abyss.

Match Three - "The Monster" Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs Sonny Siaki

Siaki used his speed and agility to keep Abyss grounded early on in the match, but with Mitchell at ringside as a distraction, Abyss was able to find an opening and connect with a big boot to the face of Siaki. He followed it up by charging into Siaki in the corner, hitting him with his Touture Rack Backbreaker and finishing it all off with a Black Hole Slam.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Monster" Abyss

A video package was shown of "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe.

We then went to Mike Tenay who was standing in the ring with TNA's commissioner, "The Living Legend" Larry Zybysko. Zybysko said that because of the situation between "The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett and Kevin Nash, he needed to bring in a special guest referee. With that, Zybysko brought out "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz. Ortiz told Nash and Jarrett that they need to respect him as a referee, and if they laid a finger on him, he would break them. This prompted Jarrett to come out and run down Ortiz and Nash. Cue Nash's music. Jarrett and Nash began brawling down the ramp and into the ring. Ortiz broke things up by choking out Nash and throwing Jarrett away as security came down to separate the two.

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas stood by with "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels who said that "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles stole the title from him, and that he was the best X-Division wrestler. He said that at Bound For Glory, he wanted an Iron Man match with Styles, just like the one the two had at Destination X. He continued by saying that on next week's Impact, he would face any three X-Division stars Styles picked and he would beat them all in 15 minutes or less. Styles came in and said that he knew exactly who he would pick and that Daniels had a deal. Styles walked off as Daniels and Douglas talked over what just happened.

Match Four - America's Most Wanted ("Wildcat" Chris Harris and "Cowboy" James Storm) vs Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

Brother Ray started off the match, taking it to James Storm, sending him to the floor as we headed to a commercial break. As we come back, AMW is in firm control of the former Dudley Boyz. Brother Ray got double teamed in the AMW corner, getting met with a series of boots. Brother Ray came back on Storm, catching him with some open hand chops from his knees, and hitting him with that sit out full nelson slam. Devon got the tag and cleaned house on AMW. Brother Ray came back in the ring and Team 3D was all over AMW, taking our Harris and hitting Storm with a modified 3D. As they set up to finish off AMW, Gail Kim made her TNA debut, hitting Brother Ray with a low blow. As Devon grabbed Gail Kim and went to powerbomb her, Jarrett hit the ring and cracked Devon in the head with the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. From there he got a guitar and whacked Brother Ray in the head. He got another guitar and again delivered a powerful blow, busting open both memebers of Team 3D, as AMW and Gail Kim watched on.

Winners Via DQ - Team 3D

Another good Impact, they are really taking the ball and running with it. It's good to see that they remembered that they have women on the roster as well and decided to include them in this week's episode. I mean this is Spike TV, a male driven channel. All in all, TNA continues to move along at a good pace, evolving more and more, it's become evident that they are indeed, Bound For Glory.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and is curious as to why Kevin Nash is getting an NWA World Heavyweight Title shot. Does TNA want their ratings to plummet?
