Spoilers from TNA Spike TV taping
By "Bloodthirsty" BOB KAPUR - SLAM! Wrestling

ORLANDO -- The initial TNA tapings for a Spike TV launch Saturday, October 1st went down last night, and SLAM! Wrestling was there for the show. Spoiler alert: read on only if you want to know what will happen in the next two weeks of TV.

Results from Universal Studios in Orlando are as follows:

Explosion match

1)Lance Hoyt and The Naturals defeated Elix Skipper, David Young and Cassidy Reilly

Matches taped for Impact on Oct 1

2) AJ Styles beat Roderick Strong. They taped two matches, it looked like the finish of the first one went wrong. Both were great, fast-paced affairs, which included amazing looking suicide dives by AJ. Styles won the first time with a rollup cradle, the second with a Styles Clash. Crowd was into AJ like the old ECW crowds used to be into RVD. Scary over.

3) Monty Brown squashed Lex Lovett

4) Chris Sabin beat Petey Williams and Alex Shelley in a 3-way X-Division battle. Nice interplay between the three, including some comedy spots. Sabin hit the CradleShock on Shelley for the win. After the match, Petey hit Sabin with the Canadian Destroyer.

Backstage, UFC legend Tito Ortiz was shown entering Larry Zybysko's office.

5) Jeff Hardy beat Rhino by DQ, when Abyss ran down and heaved Hardy off the top rope when he was ready to put Rhino away. After the match, the two behemoths were going to finish Hardy until Sabu appeared to make the save.

A video package aired showing how America's Most Wanted helped Jarrett regain the Heavyweight Title from Raven. The video revealed that Scott D'Amore was also in cahoots with Jarrett.

Jarrett, AMW, and D'Amore were out to gloat. The 3 Live Kru came out to confront them, were attacked by Team Canada, and a donnybrook ensued.

Out to make the save came Team 3-D (the former Dudley Boyz)! They cleaned house, nailing 3-Ds on both members of AMW. Jarrett escaped, and was heading up the ramp, but was stopped by the returning Kevin Nash.

Nash chased him back to the ring where he fell prey to the Wassap headbutt, and then a Jack-knife powerbomb by Nash.

Afterwards, Nash challenged Jarrett to a title match at the next PPV (Bound for Glory, Oct 23), and Team 3-D challenged AMW to a match for the next show.

The crowd was really into this whole segment.

Matches taped for Impact on Oct 8

6) 3 Live Kru beat Team Canada's Bobby Roode, Eric Young, and A-1, after Killings hit the scissor kick on young. After the match, Kip James came to the ring to help BG James, and he and Konnan continued their arguing.

7) Christopher Daniels beat Matt Bentley and Austin Aries in a 3-way X-Division match. Some beautiful moves here, including a reverse hurancarana by Aries on Bentley that took Bentley from the ring to the floor. Petey Williams came out to menace Traci Brooks who was in Bentley's corner, and Sabin came out to stop him. Looks like they will be feuding at some point. Daniels hit the Angel Wings on Aries to get the win.

8) Abyss w/ James Mitchell beat Sonny Siaki after nailing him with his torture rack driver and then the Black Hole Slam. The crowd was chanting and singing for Abyss throughout.

Larry Zybysko announced that Tito Ortiz would be the guest ref for the match between Jarrett and Nash at Bound for Glory. Ortiz warned both men to not touch him during the match lest they pay the price. Jarrett and Nash both came down to the ring to comment, and a fight broke out. Ortiz did what he could to break it up, even putting submission holds on both men. Eventually, security were able to separate the two fighters.

Christopher Daniels made a challenge that he would beat three opponents of AJ Styles' choosing in an Iron Man challenge on the next show. He and Styles will fight in a 30-minute Iron Man at the PPV.

9) Team 3-D beat AMW by DQ when Gail Kim interfered, nailing BRD (ie: the former Bubba Ray) with a low blow. Jarrett came out and he and AMW viciously assaulted Team 3-D. Jarrett nailed BRD with the belt, busting him open, and AMW hit Devon hard with a chair. The show ended with the four villains celebrating in the ring while Team 3-D lay helpless in puddles of their own blood. The crowd was totally behind Team 3-D, who looked better than they have for quite a long time. You could tell they were very excited to be back in the ring after not being used for so long in WWE, they were playing to the crowd very well.

Match taped for Explosion

Alex Shelley and Samoa Joe beat Chris Sabin and Apollo, when Joe submitted Apollo with the Kokina Klutch. Solid tag match. At one point, Apollo hit an impressive F-5 on Joe, these two could work a decent feud together in the future if they wanted to do that.

SLAM! Wrestling conducted a number of interviews, including comments from Dixie Carter, Jerry Jarrett, Kevin Nash, AJ Styles, Larry Z, Konnan, and a few others.
