Impact: Everyone wants to be Unbreakable
CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
Unbreakable is right around the corner and a lot has been going down for TNA. With the official signings of Gail Kim and Jackie Gayda and the rumored deal with Jushin "Thunder" Liger, TNA seems more ready than ever to make that next big step. However we must now make a stop at The Impact Zone as the winners of the Candido Cup will be decided!
Match One - Finals for the 2005 Chris Candido Tag Team Memorial Cup Tournament - "6 Pac" Sean Waltman and Alex Shelly vs Shocker and Chris Sabin
This was another great match from the Candido Tournament. Alex Shelly grows more and more with each appearance he makes; mark these words, he will be a big star one day with gold around his waist. Waltman hit a beautiful Tope Con Hilo to the floor on all three men which landed him on his feet. The momentum continued in his team's favor, ending with Shocker getting low-blowed and put out with the X-Factor.

We then headed backstage where "The Franchise" Shane Douglas was with "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown. Brown proceeded to cut one of his worst promos, basically just rambling about his and Kip James' opponents at Unbreakable, Apolo and Lance Hoyt. I myself lost Brown when he called Hoyt a "Galloping Giraffe", not sure where that came from.
Next up was another long, but entertaining promo courtesy of "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Daniels said that he had a six-sided heart that eternally pumps "TNA" and that now more than ever, he is "Mr. TNA" and he is "Unbreakable".
Match Two - Shark Boy vs "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe
Joe started off by powering down the much smaller Shark Boy, but when he attempted to hit the "Face Wash", Shark Boy blocked it and bit his foot. Shark Boy then went for the ten punch count, but was reversed into a Muscle Buster and put away with the Kikeda Clutch.
Winner Via Submission - "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe
Match Three - Three Way Dance - "Showtime" Eric Young w/ A-1 vs "Wildcat" Chris Harris w/ "The Tennesee Cowboy" James Storm vs Andy Douglas w/ Chase Stevens and "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart
It is announced during this match that Chris Sabin vs Shocker has been added to TNA Unbreakable (which is now apparently going to be Sabin vs Petey Williams). After a melee on the outside, all partners and managers are sent packing. 2005 Candido Cup Winners, "6 Pac" Sean Waltman and Alex Shelly are shown looking on via a monitor backstage. Eric Young got pounded on throughout the match and was ultimately defeated via a "Catatomic" from Harris. After the match, Harris motioned that he was watching Waltman and Shelly.
Winner Via Pinfall - "Wildcat" Chris Harris
Match Four - "Primetime" Elix Skipper w/ Simon Diamond vs "The Original Playa From The Himalayas" Sonjay Dutt
Back and forth match, the action spilled to the floor where Skipper took a fans' hat, put it on Dutt and proceeded to slap him silly. Once the action hit the ring again, Dutt regained the momentum, setting Skipper up for the Hindu Press. Diamond got involved sending Dutt crashing to the mat. With Diamond distracting the referee, David Young came down and hit Skipper with a Spinebuster, followed by Skipper hitting Dutt with his Cradle/Brainbuster combination move for the win.
Winner Via Pinfall - "Primetime" Elix Skipper
"The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett talked with "The Franchise" Shane Douglas backstage, saying that he was the one responsible for the weekly PPVs, he was the one responsible for Fox Sports Net and he was the one responsible for Spike TV and that now everyone who built TNA from ground up would be replaced, obviously he doesn't want that to happen. Furthermore, he dared somebody to stop him from being on TNA Unbreakable.
Match Five - "The Monster" Abyss and "The Man Beast" Rhino w/ Father James Mitchell vs "The Suicidal, Homocidal, Genocidal" Sabu and Raven
This was a glorified brawl for the most part with all four men getting in plenty of offense. Sabu brought a chair into play, leveling "The Monster" and "The Man Beast". Sabu even propped up the chair, sent Abyss to the outside and hit a Springboard Crossbody to the floor. Some mis-communications caused Rhino to Gore his partner leading to an Arabian Face Buster with the chair for the three count. After the match Abyss and Rhino destroyed The Hardcore Dream Team, Goring Sabu and pounding Raven with the Steel Chair, leaving them out cold in the middle of the ring.
Winners Via Pinfall - "The Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal" Sabu and Raven
Decent Impact, not much to expand upon, this was mostly set up for the Unbreakable PPV. It will be interesting to see how things play out, especially with all the new talent TNA is bringing in. But in the process, lets not overlook what on paper appears to be a spectacular PPV offering from "The Competition".
