Bret, Dusty visit WWE HQ
JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling
It was a very busy Wednesday at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT, to say the least.
Wednesday, August 3rd saw three former WWE superstars visit HQ, as Bret "The Hitman" Hart, "The Amrican Dream" Dusty Rhodes and Tatanka all were in the Fed's offices.
WWE's website noted that, "the 'Hit Man' will be meeting with WWE officials regarding the possibility of an upcoming DVD. Hart will be in Stamford for the remainder of the week."
The DVD has already been posted for pre-sale in the SLAM! Wrestling store. While content details are not available at this time, the compilation is set to be a three-disc effort.
Rhodes' meeting was with Stephanie McMahon, and while specifics of the meeting were not announced, McMahon was quoted in a wwe.com release, saying that, "Dusty is an incredible asset both creatively and as a talent. We are exploring all possibilities of working with Dusty in the future."
Earlier in the day, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer speculated on the meeting, noting that, "the company has been adding a lot of writers of late, but it's also known they want him for their legends program. Rhodes has floated to WWE being interested in working on the writing end since he was fired/quit by TNA as an on-air performer."
Tatanka's meeting in Stamford comes on the heels of his particiation on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw. Tatanka, aka. Chris Chavis, commented on his meeting, alluding to a new WWE talent.
"Had the opportunity to meet with WWE officials in Stamford today," Tatanka posted on his website's message board. "It was like a reunion of sorts being alongside Bret. Haven't seen him in a while and we caught up on things... It was also great meeting Kid Coolie, watch out for him, he's gonna be big."
Chavis told his boardmembers one day earlier that he had been offered a contract by WWE, noting that, "I was just offered a WWE contract. Stay tuned as I lose those extra pounds and get back to the old Tatanka that you remember."
