Smackdown: JBL's bash ruined by Batista
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
We are just a few days away from The Great American Bash, and WWE is in the thick of a lot of heat. UPN has laid down the law as it pertains to Muhammad Hassan and Daivari, and the duo will no longer be on WWE as Arab Americans. Let's make one last stop in Baltimore, as we make our final preparations for The Great American Bash! The show kicked off with a promo package, paid for by the friends of JBL, saying that he would be delivering his victory speech for The Great American Bash, later on SmackDown! Match One -- Rey Mysterio vs Super Crazy w/ Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis A promo video was shown comparing JBL and George Washington as great Americans. Eddie Guerrero was shown leaving the arena when he was stopped by Teddy Long who told him that he would have a match, and his opponent would be a secret. Josh Matthews caught up with Christian who told him that he was disrespected by Booker T, and that he beat him. He went on to say that at The Great American Bash, he would make Booker T a "Two time, two time, loser," 'cause that's how he rolls. He then said "Seacrest out!" as he pushed Matthews away. Funny stuff. Road Warrior Animal was in the back putting on his makeup when he was approached by Heidenreich who read him a poem. Animal then told Heidenreich that he was a lot more like Hawk than he thought. Another promo video comparing JBL and Neil Armstrong as great Americans aired. Match Two -- Heidenreich and Animal vs Nick Berk and Julio Dinero The Raw Rewind played. Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan, a predictable scenario, but still should be awesome. Match Three -- Eddie Guerrero vs "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit Candice Michelle came out and announced that The Great American Bash will be free for the armed forces. Melina came out and said that she found out that Candice will be the special ref for her bra and panties match with Torrie Wilson at The Great American Bash. She then demonstrated on Candice Michelle what she will do to Torrie at the Bash. Torrie then came out and took out Melina, sending her running. A video recap of The Great American Bash Press Conference is shown. Match Four -- Booker T w/ Sharmell vs Simon Dean Yet another promo video comparing JBL and Ronald Raegan aired. A new promo hyping the arrival of The Boogeyman is shown. Keep the new talent coming! A video package dealing with the whole Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio secret is shown. This week's Slam of the Week is Batista's Batista Bomb on Orlando Jordan from last week. The ring was decked out in American flags. Orlando Jordan came out and introduced JBL who came out in a Cadillac in all Red, White and Blue attire, as it rained Red, White and Blue in the arena. JBL got on the mic and babbled on like usual, showing a copy of SmackDown! Magazine with Batista on the cover. He then showed a fake copy of SmackDown! Magazine, with him standing over Batista with the World Title in his hands. He continued to talk until Batista came out and interrupted him. Batista badmouthed JBL and proceeded to beat on JBL and Jordan till they bailed. Batista then took JBL's Red, White and Blue hat and coat, he then put the attire on and stood on the middle rope with the belt in the air, staring down JBL. JBL's promos are becoming quite redundant, time to spice things up a bit and say something different. Rey and Eddie have had an awesome feud up till this point, they could have done better than this "Secret" Storyline, but we don't want to ask too much. Plus the BWO at the Bash! Things are looking good, maybe WWE is on to something with this bringing back the legends and bringing back the gimmicks brigade. Keep it up!
