Impact:: Waltman gets in A.J.'s face
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

After a stellar first week of TNA Impact on the web, it returns this week with Sonjay Dutt facing Sean Waltman in X Division action, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles taking on Alex Shelley, and much more. With that being said, let's head right into the thick of things with this week's edition of TNA Impact!

A recap of Abyss beating on Raven last week is shown. Should be a tremendous match at No Surrender.

Match One - Sean Waltman vs "The Original Playa From The Himalays" Sonjay Dutt

Series of reversals to start things off; Waltman went for a Bronco Buster, but missed it. Dutt caught him with a pair of knees to the face. Dutt followed up his offense, taking Waltman to the turnbuckles, going to work on his head. Waltman caught Dutt with a low blow that went undetected by the ref, followed by the X-Factor for the one-two-three.

Winner Via Pinfall - Sean Waltman

A recap of Lance Hoyt destroying Coach Scott D'Amore at Slammiversary is shown.

Terry Taylor got words from Team Canada who were lost without their Coach. Roode blamed himself for D'Amore's beating. Williams gathered them up and said he was the captain of the team and he told Eric Young if he wanted to do something about what happened to D'Amore, he should go out and destroy Lance Hoyt.

Match Two - "Showtime" Eric Young w/ Petey Williams vs Lance Hoyt

Young used Williams to his advantage as the two used some dirty tactics in order to gain the advantage on Hoyt. Hoyt used his sheer power to toss Young all over the place. Hoyt finished Young off with a thunderous boot to the face for the inevitable three count. Team Canada came in to beat on Hoyt, but were stopped when The Naturals hit the ring.

Winner Via Pinfall - Lance Hoyt

Terry Taylor caught up with "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown, who talked about his dominance in The King of the Mountain match. He finished up by saying if the 3 Live Kru want a piece of him and The Outlaw, they will be waiting with the pounce.

Match Three - Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs Sonny Siaki w/ Apolo

Squash match on Siaki. Abyss dominated and hit The Black Hole Slam, pinning Siaki. After the match, Apolo got into the ring with a steel chair to prevent Abyss from hurting Siaki any further. Abyss waited till he turned his back, then he attacked. He propped the chair in the turnbuckles, but Raven hit the ring. He wrapped the chain around Abyss' neck and drove him head first into the chair. He then grabbed a mic and made their match at No Surrender a No Surrender Dog Collar Match, meaning no submissions, no quitting, the match can only end in pinfall.

Winner Via Pinfall- Abyss

Match Four - Simon Diamond and Trytan vs America's Most Wanted

Before the match got started, Diamond ran his mouth about everyone else now having a problem, because with Trytan he has all the answers. Pretty much a back and forth, counter-for-counter match, that was interrupted with Jeff Jarrett who asked Tenay what Larry Zybysko was talking about, and who is to blame for him not getting a title shot. Jarrett mentioned Hardy and said "maybe I wasn't talking about Jeff." Sorry, but Matt's going back to WWE, that's a given. Nevertheless, AMW finish off Diamond with a superkick.

Winners Via Pinfall - America's Most Wanted

Terry Taylor stood by with "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, as Daniels gloated about being a "symbol of excellence." He talked about beating people all over the world, Petey Williams walked in and said that he wanted a title shot. He said he just beat up Lance Hoyt, Daniels reminded him that Lance Hoyt is not him. He agrees to a title match, as Williams walks off with a smile on his face.

Match Five - Alex Shelley vs "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Shelley started off hot, but was instantly cooled down by Styles who during the course of the match, busted Shelley's nose open pretty badly. Sean Waltman came out to disperse words here and there and say that the King of the Mountain match was every man for himself. Styles finished Shelley off with The Styles Clash. Waltman finished up by saying that if he ever got in the ring with Styles, that wouldn't happen to him. Waltman hit the ring to argue with Styles, but Jerry Lynn who is out with a rotator cuff injury, came in to break things up.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Another fantastic week of Impact. This week they added backstage promos which is a big plus, and something they missed out on during the first week. They also promoted their merchandise through commercials during the show, which is smart for them from a business standpoint. Just another great week, TNA is on a roll!

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and is wondering if Greg Oliver will step in as the Coach for Team Canada while Scott D'Amore is out with an injury.
