Christian a hit with WWE's Peep-ulation

Captain Charisma is on a bit of a roll. And his Peeps couldn't be happier.

Christian will step into the ring tonight at Vengeance with a shot at the WWE championship strap -- a three-way match vs. title holder John Cena and Chris Jericho

It's a scenario William Jason Reso has imagined for so long, much longer than he's been Christian.

"I feel like it's at my fingertips," says the 31-year-old, who grew up a few stone throws north of Toronto, in Orangeville. "It's all about capitalizing on opportunities. This is a special pay-per-view for me.

"I started out and basically had nothing. If I didn't make it, I didn't know what I was going to do with my life. To get to do what I dreamed about doing is unbelievable ... it's like a dream."

And now this ... a chance to remove the belt from hip-hopper Cena, a little feud that Christian sparked by talking some smack.

"There's chemistry there," says Christian, who hears a chorus of boos when he steps into the ring in the U.S., but gets large pops in Canada, where the Christian Coalition is alive and well.

"Canadian crowds are special," he says. "(Recently) I got a great response at a house show in Vancouver and they were great at RAW in Calgary. I really get blown away by that. Sometimes you can't fight that."

With the ongoing Draft Lottery ... and some big names going back and forth ... Christian doesn't worry about where he'll wind up.

"If I end up on Smackdown!, I end up on Smackdown!," he says. "It doesn't matter to me either way. With Kurt Angle and Cena moving (to RAW), there's a great opportunity for guys to step up."

Christian enjoys his wrestling persona, even if it does have the smugness turned up a notch or two.

"Some people say that's me. The same as outside of the ring," says Christian. "I'm a little sarcastic sometimes. And I like to have fun with the guys.

"But I don't think I'm going to run up behind the mailman when he's putting mail in the mailboxes and hit him with a chair.

"I don't see myself changing the way I am. It works for me. (The fans) have a choice. They can cheer or boo."

This Peep agrees. 'Cause that's how he rolls. And that's the way we like it.

Order The Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame: The Tag Teams

    - Cue up the Matt Hardy music ... but no Matt Hardy? The music, of course, was a ruse as Lita and Edge almost got through their wedding ceremony on RAW ... until Kane showed up from under the floor and tombstone piledrivered the minister.

    - Your daughter calls you."Dad, I'm bringing this really cool guy home tonight for dinner. His name is Nelson Frazier." Geez honey, that's great. Can't wait to meet him. A lawyer, doctor, maybe an accountant, this Nelson guy? "Uh, no, dad, he's a pro wrestler." Well, in walks Viscera (real name Nelson Frazier). The guy's insatiable appetite obviously extends beyond the rack of ribs that he just inhaled. Lock up your daughter, especially if her name is Lillian Garcia, who says she has something up her sleeve for Big Vis tonight in Las Vegas.

    - Carlito has moved to RAW, with a big impact. He beat Shelton Benjamin to win the intercontinental title. There will be a rematch at Vengeance.

    - Muhammad Hassan and Daivari have shifted to Smackdown! In his debut, Hassan defeated The Big Show. As Val Venis once deadpanned standing over a urinal: "And they call you The Big Show?" Just a thought, but The Big Bossman Scrap Iron Mike "Bulldog" Therien suggests that the next Smackdown! recruit should be ... cue the smashing glass ... Stone Cold Steve Austin. Just for the impact of that initial appearance!

    - Here are the other matches for tonight's ( 8 p.m.) Vengeance: Batista vs. Triple H (Hell in a Cell); Kane vs. Edge; Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels; and Christy Hemme vs. Victoria.

    - Here are the results from last Sunday's Slammiversary PPV: Raven won the TNA heavyweight title over AJ Styles, Monty Brown, Sean Waltman and Abyss (Jeff Jarrett was "arrested" after "attacking" a fan); Shark Boy beat Delirious, Zach Gowen, Elix Skipper, Amazing Red and Jerrelle Clark; Ron Killings beat The Outlaw; The Naturals (with help from Jimmy Hart) beat Eric Young and Petey Williams; Samoa Joe beat Sonjay Dutt; Bobby Roode beat Lance Hoyt; America's Most Wanted beat Konnan and BG James; and Christopher Daniels beat Michael Shane and Chris Sabin.

    - Here's the results from last Saturday's CPW Night of Champions show in Gatineau: Paranoid Jake Matthews won by DQ over Thunder; Dave Titan and MVP won the tag titles over Twin Terrors (eliminations had MVP and Titan beat Aftershock, then the Flamingo Beach Posse, who beat Pistola and Psycho); and Zakk "The Freak" Manson won the cruiserweight title over Frank "The Beast" Bradley and "The Future" Max Alexander. CPW will hold Bash at the Ballpark on July 31, right after that day's Ottawa Lynx Triple-A baseball game.
