TNA announces web broadcast amidst Spike rumours
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

Just when TNA gives all the answers, the questions change.

During Sunday's Slammiversary broadcast, the three-year-old wrestling company announced that it would be broadcasting its flagship show, Impact, over the Internet via tnawrestling.com.

Tuesday night in Florida at Universal Studios, the company taped another few weeks of TV, leading up to the No Surrender PPV on July 17th. The matches -- including Christopher Daniels vs Elix Skipper, Lance Hoyt vs Eric Young, AJ Styles vs Alex Shelley, Samoa Joe vs Elix Skipper vs Shark Boy, Petey Williams vs Amazing Red and A1 & Bobby Roode vs Sean Waltman & AJ Styles.-- will air on TNA's syndicated show Xplosion and on special online Impact shows.

Shortly after the announcement, however, rumours began to surface that TNA was close to a deal with SpikeTV. These rumours, which had been around since TNA's broadcasting agreement with Fox Sports Net ended, were centered around an article on Multichannel News. The article, written by R. Thomas Umstead, stated in part that, "Sources close to the network said the men's-targeted service is finalizing a deal with Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA) for a weekly late-night run."

Other television rumours have centred on FSN and WGN. WGN confirmed last week, however, that there was no agreement between the two parties.

Following Tuesday's TV tapings, the No Surrender PPV is shaping up like this:

  • NWA champ Raven vs. Abyss in a dog collar match
  • NWA tag champs the Naturals vs. Eric Young & Bobby Roode
  • X Division champ Christopher Daniels vs. Petey Williams
  • Samoa Joe vs. Chris Sabin
  • AJ Styles vs. Sean Waltman w/ special referee Jerry Lynn
  • Monty Brown and Outlaw vs. Konnan and Ron Killings
