WGN announces no deal with TNA
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM Wrestling

After weeks of rumoured negotiations, the official word has come down that Total Non-stop Action will not be airing on WGN.

A source at WGN confirmed that the station will not be broadcasting shows from the three year-old company.

"Superstation WGN has chosen not to pick up TNA," the source told SLAM! Wrestling earlier this week.

Rumours on various websites indicated that TNA was negotiating with the Chicago-based superstation to run its shows, following the expiration of their broadcast agreement with Fox Sports Net.

SLAM!'s source was unable to further comment on any negotiations or terms. "That's the only information I have at this time," the source said.

WGN, originally a regional station in the Chicago area, has expanded its service over the last few years. It is available in Canadian markets, primarily through premium packages.

TNA is currently preparing for its Slammiversary pay-per-view. Two other monthly PPVs are already scheduled, including No Surrender (July 17) and Sacrifice (August 14).
