Page confirms TNA departure
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

A much rumoured departure from Total Nonstop Action has been confirmed, as Diamond Dallas Page has left the company.

In a posting on his website, ddpbang.com, Page commented on a story that was posted at 1wrestling.com regarding his leaving the near three-year old company.

In part, Page, stated that the story, "is a very accurate statement."

He continued by stating that, "I came to TNA with (Scott) Hall and (Kevin) Nash to help TNA get the visibility to secure a wider audience. At this time, I believe they're close to getting a major cable network and I wish them the best. I want to thank Dixie [Carter], Jeff [Jarrett], Jerry [Jarrett], Dusty [Rhodes], and the rest of the gang there are TNA. They were tremendous to work with and I wish them all the luck in the world."

Page had joined TNA earlier this year, entering into a feud with Raven. The two had previously feuded in World Championship Wrestling. During his tenure with TNA, Page also received a Heavyweight Title match against Jeff Jarrett. TNA has yet to make a statement on Page's situation, nor has the league removed his bio from their webpage.

Rumours around the Internet suggested that Page's departure was due to Rhodes' removal as booker. Page denied these rumours, staying that, "Dusty's stepping down had nothing to do with me leaving... it was time to step away from wrestling for a while."

Page also noted that his book, Yoga for Regular Guys will hit stores in November and will be followed with a series of DVDs. He also has some movie roles coming up.

Page was one of the premier faces in World Championship wrestling, where he held numerous titles, including the WCW Heavyweight Championship on three separate occasions. He was also a Tag Team, Television and United States Champion with the Atlanta-based group.

Following the sale of WCW to World Wrestling Entertainment, Page had a brief run with the Fed, holding the World (then known as WCW) Tag Team and European titles. He did not have any title runs in TNA.
