Lance Storm leaving OVW
By JASON CLEVETT -- SLAM! Wrestling

Lance Storm

Lance Storm announced on his website stormwrestling.com today that he has given his notice to WWE and effective July will no longer be training wrestlers in developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling.

"My life and career are taking yet another strange turn. After long debate with my wife, I've decided it was time to get off the road completely, and stay home with my family. Last week I gave my notice to WWE and we will be parting ways at the end of my current contract this July. The office and I are parting on great terms and will continue to keep in touch, as we are both open to the possibility of working together again in the future. I can't thank WWE enough for everything it has afforded me over the past 4 years," Storm wrote.

Storm, who still calls Calgary his home will make his final WWE appearance at "ECW One Night Stand" in June before going back to Calgary and fullfilling another dream -- opening a wrestling school.

"I am currently searching for a building to house my school and hope to be up and running this September. Nick (my web guy) is working on a new section to my website, which will deal with the school, and should have more details posted in a few weeks. If you've ever thought about getting into Pro-Wrestling this will be your chance to be trained by Lance Storm, in The Wrestling Capitol of the World, Calgary?Alberta, Canada."

Storm started his career in Calgary in the legendary Hart Dungeon and went on to compete internationally as well as with ECW, WCW and WWE. Plagued by a painful back injury and dissatisfaction with his role within the company, he had his final match as a full time competitor in Calgary against Stevie Richards on April 19, 2004.
