Welcome to another edition of "As the ring turns"
with Smackdown! coming to us from Trenton, New Jersey.
The Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio saga continues, as we
get a recap to kick off the show.
Rey Rey kicks off the show and calls out Eddie
Guerrero. Mysterio calls his former partner a liar,
and that Eddie played him for a fool. He also calls
Eddie a coward for walking away last week. Eddie walks
out to a chorus of boos. Guerrero tells Mysterio he
has nothing to say. Mysterio punches Eddie to get a
response from Latino Heat. Guerrero says he never laid
a hand on him. Mysterio accuses Eddie of having MNM do
his dirty work. Rey wants a fight, striking Guerrero
again. Eddie says he won't fight, leaves the ring.
Mysterio asks Eddie if he's scared that he'd get beat
again. That comments gets Eddie to stop, but then he
continues on to the locker room.
Mysterio is pleading for a match from Teddy Long,
when Chavo Guerrero interrupts to defend his uncle.
Rey and Chavo go at it in the GM's office until a
gaggle of refs break them up.
Match #1 - Matt Morgan vs. Un-named
Jobber
Morgan grabs the mike before his opponent can be
introduced. He tells his opponent to run, like the
run-away bride. Oh, and he's stutters through the
whole thing. Mel Blanc is turning over in his grave,
'cause Porky Pig this guy ain't. Morgan hits the kid
with a cheap shot head butt, and then finishes him off
with a delayed vertical suplex.
Winner via pin fall: Matt Morgan
Match #2 - Booker T vs. Orlando Jordan
Booker and Jordan lock up and then trade blows in
the middle of the ring. Jordan clotheslines Booker
over the top rope, and follows him to the outside.
Booker fights back, but a thumb to the eye slows him
down. Jordan tosses Book back in the ring, and slaps
on a rear-chin lock. A few elbows to the gut break the
hold. A clothesline knocks Booker down, and Jordan
nails him with a series of mounted punches. Jordan
slaps on another rear-chin lock. Booker is whipped
across the ring, and counters with a high elbow.
Booker climbs the turnbuckle, but gets crotched by
Jordan. The U.S. champ tries a superplex, but Booker
fights him off, and nails a missile drop kick. Jordan
then dodges a scissors kick, but gets nailed by a
sidekick, and then cannot dodge the second scissors
kick. Booker covers and picks up a win.
Winner via pin fall: Booker T
Booker's wife, Sharmell, celebrates her husband's
win in the back, when Kurt Angle confronts her. Angle
says Booker cost him the match last week. He wants a
match with Booker at Judgment Day, with her at
ringside.
Match #3 - MNM vs. Scotty Too Hotty and
Shannon Moore
Mercury and Scotty face off. Moore tags in and the
two double-team Mercury. As the ref gets Scotty out of
the ring, Nitro grabs Moore and Mercury nails him.
Nitro tags in, and Moore goes for a cross body. Nitro
counters with a knee. Scotty and Mercury tag in. Nitro
is drop kicked off the apron. Scotty goes for the
worm, but is distracted my Melina, who shows some leg.
Nitro and Mercury hit the Snap Shot on Scotty to pick
up the win.
Winner via pinfall: MNM
After the match, Rey Mysterio hits the ring with a
lead pipe in hand. The tag team champs high tail it to
the back, as Rey smacks the stairs with said pipe.
JBL heads to the ring, still carrying the old WWE
Title belt, with something to say. JBL tells the
Trenton crowd to show some respect. JBL says he
carries the old belt for his fans, and then steals
Cena's catch phrase. JBL continues to run down the
crowd. The crowd starts chanting Cena's name, which
causes JBL to go off even more. The champ has
apparently heard enough, and comes down to shut JBL
up. Cena calls out JBL for stealing the old belt, and
then shows him how to uses his catch phrase properly.
Cena says JBL is a lot of things, but he is not a
quitter. Cena challenges JBL to and 'I Quit' match at
Judgment Day. I just want to know if there's an 'I
Quit' button on my remote?
Chavo Guerrero is talking with MNM, backstage.
Hmm, I wonder what that's all about?
Match #4 - Kurt Angle vs. Local Boy - Kurt
Angle Invitational
Angle says he's in no mood to have this match, and
orders the kid to leave. AS the kid gets to the ropes,
Angle says he changed his mind, and absolutely
destroys the young wrestler. Angle dishes out a brutal
beating, before slapping on the ankle lock. The kid
taps but with no ref, the match isn't official.
Angle then calls out Booker T. He wants an answer
and he wants it now. Booker and Sharmell come out to
the top of the ramp. Booker T says he accepts the
challenge. Angle says that's great because he's going
to break his ankle, and then he'll have to go home
with that gutter (expletive deleted) wife. Booker hits
the ring, and assaults Angle. Booker holds the Olympic
champ, as Sharmell slaps him. Angle then nails Booker
with a low blow, and follows with the Angle Slam. Kurt
sets his sights on Sharmell, who trips while running
up the ramp. Angle stalks her, and almost slaps on the
ankle lock, as security keeps him at bay. Booker tends
to his injured wife and carries her to the back.
Chavo tells Eddie that he is a far better man than
himself. Chavo is proud that Eddie has put friendship
and loyalty first. Chavo says he will teach Rey to
never mess with a Guerrero.
Match #5 - Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. Hardcore
Holly
How does Holly still have a job? Either he has
naked pictures of Vince (shudder) or this is payback
for being Sparky Plugg. Carlito chops Holly into the
corner, but Holly turns it around. Carlito begs for
him to stop. A clothesline sends CCC to the mat.
Carlito locks in a sleeper, but Holly counters with a
back suplex. Holly shoots off the ropes and hits a
clothesline. He follows with a full nelson driver.
Holly then hits a flying clothesline. He sets up CCC
for the Alabama Slam, but Carlito grabs the ropes to
break up the move. Carlito goes up and over on Holly,
and pins him with a back slide. Carlito uses the ropes
for leverage and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Carlito Caribbean Cool
After the match, Carlito announces that next week
The Big Show will be the guest on the Cabana. He says
he's going to make Show an offer he can't refuse.
Carlito must think The Godfather is very cool.
John Cena's rap video Bad, Bad Man debuts. It's
a tribute to the '80s, and I don't care what anyone
says, I like it. I'm a sucker for an A-Team spoof.
What can I say?
Match #6 - Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio -
Street Fight
Um, shouldn't a street fight be in, you know, a
street? Never mind. Rey comes down still holding a
lead pipe. Chavo leaves the ring, and tells Rey to
fight him like a man. Rey ditches the pipe, and the
match gets under way. A drop toehold sends Chavo into
the middle turnbuckle. Mysterio then hits a
split-legged moonsault. Rey hits a springboard
huricanranna, sending Chavo flying from the ring.
Guerrero grabs a chair. Rey ducks the shot, and then
kicks Chavo's legs out. Chavo counters a drop kick,
and then tosses Rey out of the ring. Guerrero grabs a
ladder, and places it in the corner of the ring. Rey
drives Chavo into the ring apron, and heads back into
the ring. He hangs Chavo up on the top rope, and then
kicks the ladder into Chavo. Rey sets the ladder up
against the ring. Mysterio hits a moonsault off the
top of the ladder. Chavo rolls away from the ladder
falling on him. Mysterio then sends Chavo shoulder
first into the ring post. Rey grabs the chair, but
Chavo knocks him off the top turnbuckle. Chavo sets up
the chair, and slams Rey's skull off it, twice. Chavo
hits the Gory Bomb, but Rey Rey kicks out. Chavo looks
to the back, and signals for MNM to come out. Chavo
tries to toss Rey into a ladder, but Rey fights back,
and kicks the ladder into MNM. Mysterio knocks Chavo
onto the chair. Chavo ducks the 619, and almost gets
the pin. Another drop toehold sends Chavo into the
chair. Rey hits a seated senton with Chavo on the
chair. Rey covers for the win.
Winner via pinfall: Rey Mysterio
After the match, MNM hit the ring and jump
Mysterio. Chavo joins in on the fun, and Rey is beat
down. Eddie Guerrero's music hits. MNM don't seem to
care, but Latino Heat cleans house. Eddie picks Rey
up, and both men embrace. Until, Eddie lays him out
with a clothesline. Eddie then rams Rey head first
into the ring post. Latino Heat tears Mysterio's mask,
revealing half of Rey's bloody face. Eddie drags
Mysterio outside the ring, and finishes off Rey with a
suplex on the ring steps. Latino Heat leaves his
former tag team partner bloody and broken on the arena
floor.
