Smackdown! continues with the UK as they stop in
Birmingham, England. The Brits get a treat as four men
compete for the number one contender spot in a fatal
four-way.
Carlito's Cabana
Carlito kicks of the show by bringing the islands
to the Emerald Isle with his cabana. Carlito gets some
cheers, and gets even more by saying he would spit in the
Queen's face. The boos come when Carlito says England
isn't cool. Carlito shows a picture of Prince Charles
and his new wife to a chorus of boos. CCC gets around
to introducing his guest, Kurt Angle. The Olympic
champ runs down Britain even more. Angle goes on to
say that he will win tonight, and then beat Cena, when
he is interrupted by English music. Steve from
Britian, introduces himself, and challenges Kurt in
the Kurt Angle Invitational. Angle says he doesn't
want to hurt himself. Angle jumps the kid as he tries
to leave, beats on him, and then tosses him from the
ring. Angle continues to put himself over, but it is
cut short as the Brit gets his revenge. Until, Angle
hits him with a low blow, and then the Angle slam. The
Olympic champ then slaps on the ankle lock for good
measure.
Match #1 - Paul London vs. Chavo Guerrero -
Cruiserweight Title Match
Torrie Wilson is the guest ring announcer, for
what it's worth. London kicks Chavo into the corner,
but gets dropped on the top rope. London and Chavo
exchange blows, and London is whipped across the ring.
London hits a spin kick, and gets a near fall. London
kicks Chavo in the corner, and goes to the top rope.
Chavo pushed London off, and the champ falls onto the
ring post, on his way to the floor. London is counted
out.
Winner via count out: Chavo Guerrero
Chavo scoops up the belt, only to have the ref take
it. Torrie announces, by ref's orders, that the title
can only via pinfall or submission. Chavo takes out
his frustration on London, by beating him even more.
Backstage, Booker's wife, Sharmell, is getting
her man fired up, when Heidenreich shows up. He does
his best homage to John Milton reciting a poem about
Booker T's fatal four-way match. Sharmell tells
Heidenreich she can dig it, and the big man is
ecstatic.
Eddie tries to talk to Rey Mysterio. Eddie
apologizes for being unreliable, when Chavo
interferes. Eddie tells his nephew to back off. Eddie
calls him jealous of him and Rey, and that Rey is
family. Chavo says Rey is not a Guerrero. Eddie pleads
with Rey that he is family, and then Chavo tries to
warn Rey about his uncle. Rey tells Chavo to shut it,
and then gets Eddie fired up to face MNM.
Match #2 - Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio vs.
MNM - WWE Tag Team Title Match
Eddie and Nitro start off, with Eddie nailing
Nitro with a thumb to the eye. Rey tags in and hits a
snap mare, and Eddie tags back in. Nitro backs Eddie
into the corner, and whips him across the ring.
Mercury pulls Eddie off the apron, and the throws him
into the ring post. Mercury tags in and locks in a bear
hug on Eddie. Mysterio gets the hot tag, but misses a
springboard. Rey then tries a flying cross body, which
misses Mercury, and nails Eddie. Mysterio hits a
bulldog on Nitro and then knocks him into the ropes.
Rey sets up the 619 but stops when he sees Eddie
leaving. Rey is power bombed, kicks out of the pin.
Eddie returns to the apron as we go to break. We
return to find Mysterio getting beat down in the
corner. Rey rolls through a sunset flip and kicks
Mercury in the face. Nitro tags in and prevents Rey
from getting to his corner. Nitro hits a back breaker,
but cannot get the pin. Mysterio hits a tilt-a-whirl
head scissors, but Eddie doesn't extend his hand for
the tag. Mercury tags in and MNM hit the elevated DDT
for the win.
Winner via pin fall: MNM
After the match, Mercury and Nitro pound on
Mysterio as Eddie looks on. Rey is tossed into the
ring post, and Eddie still does nothing. Eddie then
walks away from his partner.
Match #3 - John Cena vs. Renee Dupree
What's French for jobber? Renee Dupree. Dupree
gets in some early offense, but nothing more then
clubbing blows, and holds. Cena finally gets back on
track, with a kick to the ribs, followed by a
clothesline. A side slam sets up the five-knuckle
shuffle. The Doctor of Thug-a-nomics pumps up the
shoes, and an F-U finishes of Dupree. The champ leaves
through the crowd.
Winner via pinfall: John Cena
Match #4 - Matt Morgan vs. Mickey Whiplash
(a.k.a. Jobber)
Morgan says that last week was the first time he
stuttered. And guess what, he does it again. Another
quality match from Morgan, and all I have to say is
that Morgan's gimmick s-s-s-s-s-sucks.
Winner: Matt Morgan
Michael Cole interviews JBL. Cole asks him why he
is still carrying the old belt. He says all of Europe
wants to chant his name, because he brings integrity
to the belt. The Big Show cuts JBL short. Show calls
out JBL for his rants, and tells him no one cares
anymore. Show also calls out JBL's losing streak, and
tells him he will continue it tonight.
Match #5 - Booker T vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Big
Show vs. JBL - Fatal Four-way Elimination match
JBL pushes Angle into Big Show, and Show cleans
house with clotheslines. JBL tries a flying body
press, but Show catches him, and hits leg drop. Show
dominate all his opponents, whipping JBL into Angle,
and then chopping Booker T into JBL. Show then hits
all three men with butt bump. Show goes for a
chokeslam on Angle, who counters it into the Angle
Slam. Booker T follows up with a scissors kick, and
JBL dials up a Clothesline from Hell, but Show kicks
out. Show is then knocked over the top rope, and the
giant is triple teamed outside the ring. The Olympic
champ hits the Angle Slam through the announce table,
and Big Show is counted out. Angle and JBL double team
Booker in the corner. Booker fights back with a
clothesline to Angle, but he misses an axe kick on
JBL, and gets hung up on the rope. JBL follow Booker
to the outside, but is whipped into the steel steps.
Angle hits a vertical suplex on Booker, as JBL rolls
back into the ring. Booker hits a heel kick on Angle.
Booker then hits the Book End on JBL, but the former
champ kicks out. Angle grabs Booker from behind, and
hits two German suplexes. Angle hits another suplex,
but Booker counters the Angle Slam, and then Angle
counters the scissors kick, and then Booker counters
the Angle Slam again. Booker then fights out of the
ankle lock, only to finally taste the Angle Slam. On
the outside, Orlando Jordan tries to slide JBL a
chair, but is caught, and sent to the back. With the
ref distracted Angle grabs the chair and levels
Booker. Angle pins Booker T to eliminate him. Angle
and JBL exchange blows, and Angle ducks a big boot.
Angle gets the ankle lock on, but JBL counters. JBL
and Angle trade blows again, and Angle gets caught on
a cross body. JBL hits a fall away slam. Angle ducks a
clothesline, but JBL runs into the ref, sending him
spilling from the ring. Angle locks in the Ankle lock.
Doug and Danny rush to the ring, but Angle dispatches
them. He follows with rolling German suplexes. With
the ref still out, Angle can't pin. He goes back to
the ankle lock, and JBL taps, but there's no ref to
call for the bell. Booker T returns and lays Angle out
with a chair shot. The Bashams throw the ref back in
the ring, and JBL covers Angle to get the win.
Winner via pinfall: JBL
