WWE announces Raw Diva Search format
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has announced its plans for this years $250,000 Raw Diva Search.

Through its corporate website, WWE stated that the lone casting call this year will take place in Los Angeles in June, with a submission deadline of May 13. All entrants must be 20 years of age and be from the United States of America, excluding Hawaii and Alaska.

The Search this year will be scaled down compared to last year's competition, which saw multiple casting call locations. This year's edition will also only feature eight finalists, compared to 10 last year. Voting will also change, as fans will only be able to vote via WWE's website. Phone voting was available last year.

Last year's winner, Christy Hemme, can currently be seen on WWE's Raw broadcasts. Other finalists such as Michelle McCool and Joy Giovanni have sporadically appeared on WWE TV, including on Smackdown! brand shows. Another finalist, Amy Weber, had been with the company but quit earlier this year.
