Impact: Rhodes announces all cage matches
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

This week on TNA Impact, we get to see "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles in action, Michael Shane meets up with Chris Sabin, and Kid Kash battles it out with Apolo in the Main Event. With Lockdown a few weeks away, Dusty Rhodes promises a big announcement, and with that being said, let's get on with it! Let's go to the TNA Impact Recap...

This week's show kicks off with a recap of the X Division Match from last week. Let's hope they don't give any storylines away before they unfold this week.

Match One- Michael Shane vs Chris Sabin
Match starts off with a series of reversals, but Sabin snaps a headlock and is able to keep Shane at bay. Shane gets up and sends Sabin to the floor, Sabin sent is then sent into the guardrails and rolled back into the ring. Shane is able to maintain the control of the match, sending Sabin down to the mat with a dropkick. Shane works away on Sabin, but out of nowhere is rolled up pinned.
Winner Via Pinfall- Chris Sabin
Post Match- Shane hits a superkick on Sabin and follows that up with the typical beatdown.

Mike Tenay and Don West put over the fact that Dusty Rhodes will be making a huge announcement and that will affect everyone involved with TNA Lockdown.

Dusty Rhodes, Tracy Brooks, and Trinity come ouy. Dusty throws out a stipulation for every match at Lockdown, yes every match. On top of stipulations such as Styles/Abyss in a No.1 Contender's Match, the Jarrett/DDP saga in a Lethal Lottery, and Hardy/Raven in a Tables Match, but every match will be contested inside of a steel cage. All eight matches are steel cage matches. No comment here.

Match Two- Chase Stevens w/ Andy Douglas and Chris Candido vs "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
Styles uses his speed to take down one half of The Naturals, Stevens comes back and charges at Styles, but Styles gets out of the way, skins the cat and hurricanrana's Stevens to the floor. We come back from commercials and we are shown a replay of Styles hitting a huge swanton bomb from the ring onto Stevens on the floor. Wow! Douglas and Candido interfere, giving Stevens the advantage. Styles rises up and catches Stevens for the Styles Clash. One...Two...Three!
Winner Via Pinfall- "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
Post Match- Abyss comes out with a steel chair, he gets the attention of Styles, but security quickly runs in before the two men can go at it.

America's Most Wanted join Tenay and West for commentary. They talk about getting Team Canada inside of the steel cage at TNA Lockdown.

Match Three- David Young and Lex Lovett vs Dustin Rhodes and Cassidy Riley
Rhodes is quick to take out Young and Lovett early in the match, hitting Young with the Golden Globes. While Young holds his unmentionables, Lovett is drop toe holded onto them. Ouch! Young and Lovett double team Riley, putting him on the defensive. Riley hits a hurricanrana on Young and pins him.
Winners Via Pinfall- Dustin Rhodes and Cassidy Riley

Mike Tenay is standing in the ring when he introduces "The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett to the crowd. Hatred is a understatement for what these fans feel about Jarrett. Jarrett hypes his Lockdown match up, which should be a interesting encounter. Don't get me wrong, Jarrett is an extremely talented wrestler and mic worker, but the fans hate him for real. He needs to drop the belt soon, or people will be clicking TNA off their television sets. DDP comes in and beats Jarrett down, The Outlaw runs in, but is sent over the ropes. DDP quickly bails and runs into the crowd as The Outlaw and Jarrett look on with disgust.

Elix Skipper is talking to a guy backstage, when Christopher Daniels walks in and starts bad mouthing Skipper. Asking him if he really wants his match for the X Division Championship. Skipper says he wants it, Daniels asks if he wants it right here and now, but Skipper declines, saying he wants the whole world to be able to witness the beating. Skipper walks away laughing at the fact that Daniels calls himself "Mr. TNA".

Match Four- Kid Kash w/ Lance Hoyt vs Apolo
Tenay announces that the four-way X Match at Lockdown, with the objective being to escape the cage, the last person in the cage is the loser. So we get three winners? That's completely idiotic idea. West goes on to say that in cage matches past, it's been all about staying in the cage. Hasn't escaping from the cage always been a method of winning? Apolo just powers Kash all over the ring, as we head into a commercial break. We come back from commercials, and Apolo is still just pounding away at Kash. Dusty Rhodes comes in and joins Tenay and West for the end of the match. Siaki comes down to cheer on Apolo. Apolo gets way too blown up, sit out powerbomb on Kash, Hoyt pulls the referee out at a two count, and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner Via DQ- Apolo
Post Match- Siaki gets involved, and a four man brawl ensues. We go to a camera backstage that shows Kevin Nash throwing Candido and The Naturals all around the backstage area, as TNA Impact comes to a close.

Just when I thought TNA couldn't possibly mess things up any worse, they pull this. Eight cage matches! That's way too many to keep the fans interested throughout. By the main event someone will have to do a 450 backflip, corkscrew, through a flaming table with barbed wire in order to keep the fans awake. Good luck with this endeavor, but I don't think it's going to work one bit.
