Wrestlemania 21 has come and gone, and now it's
time to check in on the repercussions as Smackdown!
comes to us from San Diego, California.
JBL, the former champ, walks to the ring. I guess
the limo came with the title belt. Bradshaw still says
he is the greatest champ ever, and history will
reflect that. Sure, you keep on believing that, buddy.
He then berates the crowd for cheering for Cena. He
then says Cena is not in his league. JBL then cries
that he wants he championship back, and wants a
rematch. Eddie Guerrero's music interrupts the tirade.
JBL tells Latino Heat to leave, but Eddie tells him if
he wants the WWE Title back he'll have to go through
Eddie. Booker T then joins the discussion. Booker
doesn't say much, as Big Show interrupts. Show
threatens JBL and then says he will face Cena next. Rey
Mysterio makes his presence felt, and politely asks
Show for the stick. Rey explains that if Eddie is
going to throw his name in the hat, so is Rey
Mysterio. Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring; I
don't think anyone else is left to challenge for the
belt. Angle points out Eddie, Show, and JBL all lost
at WM 21, and Booker T wasn't even on the show. He
then tells Rey that only adults can challenge for the
WWE Title. Angle then drops a bombshell -- he was
arrested for armed robbery after the WM. He was
charged with stealing the show. OH! JBL gets back on
the mike, and says he is better than everyone in the
ring.
The General Manager has heard enough, so Teddy Long
makes his way to the ring. He tells JBL that this is
his ring, and that his title contract had no rematch
clause. You gotta read the fine print, playa. JBL
threatens to sue; Long tells him he'll have to earn
the rematch. In fact, everyone in the ring will have
to earn that match. Long tells JBL he will be facing
Rey Mysterio, tonight.
Match #1 - Paul London vs. Billy Kidman -
Cruiserweight Title Match
The former champ, Chavo Guerrero, joins Cole and
Tazz at ringside. Chavo is trying to convince Cole
that he didn't lose the title, but it was stripped
from him because of the Battle Royal. Kidman goes on
the offensive first, and hits a neck breaker. London
is whipped into the corner, and hits the mat. London
tries to fight his way out of the corner. London
fights back with forearms, but is tossed out of the
ring by Kidman. London is busted open. London then
fights his way off the turnbuckle, and knocks Kidman
down with a clothesline. A hurricanrana, followed by
a kick to the head, get London a two count. London is
asked if he wants to stop, he says no, but then gets
the BK bomb. London counters a bulldog, and then hits
a back body drop. London climbs the turnbuckle, and
goes for the 450. Kidman rolls out of the way, and
London lands on his fight. London then reverse a roll
up, and gets the pin.
Winner via pin fall: Paul London
After the match, Chavo taunts London from the
floor, and then Kidman assaults London from behind.
Chavo then hits the ring, and Kidman and Chavo go to
work on the cruiserweight champ.
Luther Reigns runs down Show for losing his sumo
match at Wrestlemania. He then makes fun of how Show
looked in his sumo gear. Big Show doesn't think it's
funny, and says losing was an honor. The Show tells
him to meet him in the ring, right now.
Torrie Wilson is shown getting ready for the Diva
bikini contest.
Match #2 - The Big Show vs. Luther Reigns
Show kicks Reigns into the corner, and then knocks
him out of the ring with a chop. Reigns fights back by
throwing Show into the ring post. Back in the ring,
Reigns walks into a choke slam, but is able to fight
out of Show's grasp. A head butt a kick to the head,
slow down Reigns. Show then bumps him in the corner.
Reigns staggers to his feet, and into a choke slam.
Show covers for the win.
Winner via pin fall: The Big Show
New WWE champion, John Cena, makes his way to the
ring. Cena takes a little time to bask in his glory.
Cena says he doesn't fit the mold of a champion,
because he fights for the fans. Cena says some
wrestling purists were offended when he modified the
U.S. title, he tells them to take one last look at the
title. Cena goes to the crowd, and says this is the
chain gang. Cena exits through the crowd.
Match #3 - Kurt Angle Invitational
Angle just beat HBK at Wrestlemania, does this kid
seriously think he has a chance? Angle says the real
highlight of WM was when he made Michaels tap out.
Angle says he will face Eddie Guerrero next week, and
make him tap. The local boy finally hits the ring, and
answers Angle in Spanish. Angle tells him to speak
English. Angle then asks if he has family in the
arena, and Angle hits him with a cheap shot when he
points them out. A German suplex hurts the young man,
and Angle follows with the Angle Slam. The Olympic
Champ slaps on the ankle lock, and the kid taps in
under thirty seconds.
Winner via submission: Kurt Angle
After the match, Angle tells Guerrero that this is
what his future holds. Angle slaps on the ankle lock
again.
Miss Jackie is shown getting ready.
New Smackdown reporter Steve Remero (sp?) is with
Carlito Caribbean Cool. CCC says he showed up on
Piper's Pit to wake everyone up. Carlito says he's
cool, and if Piper has his own show, he should have
one, too. Next week he will debut Carlito's Cabana,
and anyone who thinks they are cool can be on. Steve
says he's cool, but backs off when Carlito starts
eating the apple.
Eddie asks Mysterio if he's ready. Latino Heat
says he will make sure Rey Rey wins. Mysterio says he
isn't sure about getting help, and Eddie says last
week was last week. Eddie tells Rey he doesn't think
Rey can win alone.
Viva Las Divas Bikini Contest

Diva's magazine next week.
Winner: Torrie Wilson
Eddie and Rey have words in the ring, again. Both
men make up, and hug in the ring.
Match #5 - JBL w/ Orlando Jordan vs. Rey
Mysterio
The 619 chants are deafening to start the match.
Mysterio ducks out of the ring, drawing out Bradshaw.
Rey dropkicks JBL in the face, as he tries to reenter
the ring. JBL gets Rey Rey cornered, and starts to
pound on him. Mysterio hangs Bradshaw on the top rope,
and then drop the dime on him. JBL responds with a
clubbing blow to the back. Mysterio fights out of a
power bomb, and takes JBL to the outside with a head
scissors. Mysterio cinches in a sleeper hold. JBL
breaks the hold, and continues to pound on Rey Rey. A
head butt sends Mysterio into the ropes. JBL chokes
him twice, and then follows with a vertical suplex.
Mysterio fights from his knees, but a thumb to an eye
slows him down. A straight right drops Rey into the
corner. JBL then hits a fall away slam from the second
rope. Mysterio breaks the pin by getting his foot on
the rope. After ducking JBL, Mysterio runs into a big
boot. JBL then slams Rey off the barrier on the
outside. Jordan gets in a cheap shot while the ref has
his backed turned. JBL then locks in a bear hug hold.
Mysterio bites JBL in the face to break the hold.
Mysterio fights back with kicks to the legs. Mysterio
is bounced off the turnbuckle and then set up on the
top rope. Mysterio counters the superplex, and hits a
moonsault. JBL kicks out. Mysterio hits three drop
kicks, but still cannot get the pin. Rey Rey then
breaks out the tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Mysterio
get caught in mid-air, but counters with a DDT that
plants JBL. Rey goes for the 619 but Jordan trips him
up. Eddie Guerrero chases Jordan around ringside, and
takes out the Chief of Staff with a high elbow. JBL
kick Eddie, but gets knocked down by Mysterio. Rey
hits the 619, and looks to have JBL pinned. Latino
Heat attacks JBL before the three count, and gets Rey
Rey disqualified.
Winner via DQ: JBL
After the match, the Bashams hit the ring, but
Cena makes the save. The champ gives the F-U to the
Secretaries of Defense. Cena poses in the ring, as JBL
yells at him from the ramp.
