Impact: Moving the mess along
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
Glad to be back on SLAM! with the TNA Impact Recap, but it seems like the same old show again. The storylines are just a mess right now.
A video package of Jeff Jarrett on Blue Collar TV is shown. From what was shown, he didn't look too bad. Backstage, Konnan confronts The Outlaw, who he thinks is trying to break up the Kru. BG James and Ron Killings come in, Outlaw tells James they have business. BG James declines The Outlaw and is questioned by Konnan before walking away. There's thunder in paradise, and I'm not talking about Hulk Hogan either.
Match One- Shocker and Jeff Hardy vs Lex Lovett and David Young Kevin Nash is on the hunt for Diamond Dallas Page, he runs into Michael Shane who says he saw DDP walk through the gates.
Match Two- The Dysciples of Destruction w/ Traci Brooks vs Shark Boy and Cassidy Riley DDP hits the ring, and is ready to hear if the cage match he requested will be on for Lockdown. Dusty Rhodes, Trinity, and Traci come out. Dusty announces that at Lockdown, DDP, Kevin Nash, and Sean Waltman will be taking on Monty Brown, The Outlaw, and Jeff Jarrett in a Steel Cage Match. DDP starts to talk about Monty Brown, but is interrupted by Jeff Jarrett who is in the parking lot. Behind him, Kevin Nash is being beaten down. Jarrett tells DDP that "The first shot has been fired!" Jeff Hardy is walking in the backstage area, when he is confronted by Raven. Raven wants to join forces with Hardy, and mix each of their fans. Hardy says that he wrestles for his fans only. Raven/Jeff Hardy feud is on its way...
Match Three- Apolo vs Sonny Siaki Shane Douglas is standing backstage with "The Lone Star" Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes says there has never been a Canadian able to beat a Texan in history. Bobby Roode and Coach Scott D'Amore come in. Both sides jabber a bit and we are sent back to ringside...
Match Five- Phi Delta Slam w/ Trinity vs America's Most Wanted So, the storyline messes continue. Some of my most maddening complaints: Quatermain was being pushed with Lovett as a tag team competitor for Johnny Fairplay, but in two weeks, Fairplay was scrapped, and Lovett and Quatermain were broken up. Trytan was thrown from a feud with Brown after nothing was settled, things are just out of control. Anyway, next week on Impact, Chris Sabin, Michael Shane, Elix Skipper, and Petey Williams will battle it out in an X Division Shoot Out match, see you all then.
Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and thinks that the SLAM! writing staff needs to take over TNA and write some storylines that make sense, even if very little. If you agree, write to TNA or email Chris at CJS137@aol.com |
