Impact: Styles-Kash a hot clash
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

In a doozy of a main event, AJ Styles and Kid Kash are set to meet up for the TNA X Division title in what is sure to be an excellent match, given the 30-minute time limit. We may also catch another glimpse of the newcomer Trytan, as his ongoing feud with "The Alpha Male" continues. All that plus the X Division stars as we are just a little over a week away from Destination X!

We start the show off with a recap of last week's closing brawl.

Next Mike Tenay and Don West announce that the winner of the NWA TNA X Division Championship will definitely be in the X Division Match at Destination X. Hmm...wasn't that obvious?

Following their banter, Dusty Rhodes, Trinity, and Traci Brooks come out. Dusty talks about the "Open Door Policy" and introduces a Puerto Rican sensation, Apollo. Apollo speaks some Spanish to the crowd and heads to the back, he will debut next week. Dusty then finishes up by saying that Jarrett needs to get together and get to the ring in 30 minutes, because he is close to having his title stripped on Impact. Try it Dusty and he'll fire your ass.

Match One- Michael Shane vs Chris Sabin

Another X Division Shootout match, both men go at it fast and furious to start things off, but Shane quickly gains a distinct advantage. Shane whips Sabin off the ropes, duck under, and they both connect with a double clothesline. Sabin fights his way back to his feet, but a spinning neckbreaker off the turnbuckles puts him back on the defense once again. Sabin ducks a superkick, Cradle Shock, one....two....three.

Winner via Pinfall- Chris Sabin

A promo is shown from Jeff Jarrett's appearance on Blue Collar TV. The cast talks about him and how great he was, of course Jarrett was standing next to the guy, but still they seemed to enjoy having him on, and from the clips it looked to be a pretty good job that he did.

Shane Douglas is standing by with Monty Brown, who cuts a horrible promo on Trytan. Brown imitates a call Trytan would make to his leader Orson. Ok Monty, you're not The Rock and you can't get away making fun of people like that. Stick to wrestling and stay far away from the mic.

Match Two- The Naturals and Chris Candido vs Petey Williams, "Primetime" Elix Skipper, and Mikey Batts w/ Coach Scott D'Amore

The Naturals and Candido make quick tags in and out, puttting Williams and Skipper down respectivley. Candido hits a high standing vertical suplex on Williams, that was absolutely beautiful. Williams comes back though, setting Candido in the turnbuckles, stepping on his unmentionables and bellowing "Oh Canada!" It breaks down, Batts has the cover off an inseguri, Candido off the ropes as the ref is distracted, Batts is knocked out, roll over for the victory.

Winners via Pinfall- The Naturals and Chris Candido

Dusty Rhodes is with Trinity and Traci Brooks in the back of his pickup truck. Dusty talks about not being able to wait to lay those stipulations down on Jeff Jarrett. He then mumbles on about Team Traci and Team Trinity. Wasn't there only supposed to be one secretary after the match? I am not complaining, I just need a secretary. David Young comes in and asks for one more chance, which he gets. He needs to get a win though.

Match Three- "Showtime Eric Young" w/ Coach Scott D'Amore vs Dustin Rhodes

Young comes out with the fists of fury, taking Rhodes down and keeping him from gaining the momentum. However, Rhodes is able to mount a comeback, sending Young into the turnbuckles time and time again. Suplex from the top, Team Canada comes down, AMW comes down, bulldog on D'Amore, powerslam on Young, it's over!

Winner via Pinfall- Dustin Rhodes

We go from one generation the next as Dusty Rhodes is in the ring. Dusty says that at Destination X, all men who have been hit with a guitar by Jarrett will surround the ring. He introduces 3 Live Kru and DDP to the crowd. DDP gets in the ring, he and Dusty pump up for the upcoming title match, but they are interrupted by Jeff Jarrett, The Outlaw, Chris Candido, and The Naturals. Jarrett and Rhodes get into an altercation, and it breaks down into a brawl. Kevin Nash hits the ring, 3 Live Kru, The Naturals, Chris Candido, it's an all out brawl!

Just when I was about to lose hope, "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels joins the commentators for...

Match Three- NWA TNA X Division Championship Match- Kid Kash w/ Lance Hoyt vs "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Both men lock it up and exchange arm ringers, but Kash is able to reach the ropes and catch a break. Kash off the ropes, dropkick to the floor by Styles, Kash is on the floor as we head to a commercial break. We come back, and Styles is chasing Kash around the ring, Kash back in, series of near falls, attempted Styles Clash, armdrag, more reversals, phew! Arm bar applied on Kash, but he is able to fight out, sending Styles to the floor and hitting Styles with an over the top rope huricanrana. Styles is sent into the guardrails, but he jumps over them and continues to fight, kicking Kash in the head. Lance Hoyt gets involved as we go to another commercial break. We come back and Styles is in a version of the surfboard, Kash gets up with Styles and hits a vertical suplex, Kash goes for the moonsault, but is caught up on the ropes by Styles, Kash attempts a top rope powerbomb as Styles climbs up, but instead is flipped over to the mat. Styles delivers a series of right hands and a high backbody drop on Kash, brainbuster on Kash, but only a two count. Jawbreaker, top rope springboard huricanrana by Kash, spinning DDT, but again only a two count. Attempted Money Maker, but a pele kick puts Kash down. Springboard DDT attempted by Styles, but instead he catches his family jewels on Kash's head causing visible pain. Hoyt gets involved with a steel chair, but is knocked out, Daniels in, he hangs Styles up, Money Maker attempted, reverse and roll through, one...two...he got him!

Winner via Pinfall- A.J. Styles

We immediately go backstage where Abyss is tearing up the parking lot area looking for Jeff Hardy, who is sitting on a product truck looking on with binoculars.

One of the worst Impacts in recent history. The matches were alright, but it just wasn't an all around great production this week. It seemed to lack a considerable amount, all the feuds were covered, but it wasn't enough to keep the fans tuned in. With the clock ticking down till Destination X, TNA better use their final Impact to generate some buzz for what looks to be a decent PPV.
