HBK destined to be heel?
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

Sometimes you can sniff out a WWE storyline a mile away. And sometimes that scent leads you in the wrong direction.

But I have this feeling in the bottom of my belly that Shawn Michaels will play a bigger role in the Jan. 9 New Year's Revolution pay-per-view than that of just referee of the main event -- an Elimination Chamber match between Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Edge and Chris Benoit.

I would have Michaels turn heel and join Evolution. But that's just me ... and I'm not employed as a writer by Vince McMahon ... at least not yet.

A Michaels swerve would mean Triple H would once again be a champion.

And that won't sit well with a lot of WWE fans who think Triple H has held the title enough times. But at his heel best, Triple H has few peers in this business.

If Michaels doesn't align with Evolution, I'd expect the Triple H-Batista heat to pick up a bit ... with Batista perhaps costing Triple H the championship. In that case, Orton could win the title.

- South Carolina's Times and Democrat came up with a list of its Top 25 wrestlers of all-time. Here they are counted down in order from 25-1: Jerry "The King" Lawler, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Dory Funk Jr., Antonio Inoki, Giant Baba, Mankind/Cactus Jack/Dude Love (Mick Foley), Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Harley Race, Big Show/The Giant (Paul Wight), Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mil Mascaras, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Michaels, Mr. Wrestling II (Johnny Walker), Mr. Wrestling Tim Woods, Bob Backlund, The Undertaker, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Chris Benoit, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

- WWE has announced that the Jan. 17 RAW in Toronto will have a match with Orton, Benoit and Jericho vs. Triple H, Batista and Edge.

- Let's see ... two new champions and a beating that sent Wild Dangerous Dan to the hospital ... that would mean that CPW's second anniversary show, Reincarnation 2, last Saturday night in Hull was a huge success. Tray Hugh Mongus won the heavyweight title over Paranoid Jake Matthews, while Misty Haven won the women's title in a three-way tilt against Sweet Cherrie and Moonlight. But the big news of the night had to be the heel turn of PCO, who put a beating on his tag-team partner Wild Dangerous Dan. Here are the other results: The Freak Zakk Manson beat Player Uno, Frank "The Beast" Bradley and Pistola; Ruffy Silverstein beat Kid Nichols; The Twin Terrors beat MVP Michael Von Payton and Dave Titan; Damian Styles and Drake Styles were both counted out; Jaguar beat Mr. Know It All Shawn Demers by DQ and Thunder won the Lord of the Ring Battle Royal to gain a future title shot.

- Universal Wrestling Alliance will give hometown boy Jason Cage a title shot against Abyss at its New Years Bashing show on Jan. 14, 8 p.m., at the Iron Horse Saloon (813 Princess St.) in Kingston. Among the other matches are: She Nay Nay vs. Yce vs. Jane Steel and Kwan Chang vs. Willy Allen in a hardcore hell bout. For more info, check out universalwrestlingalliance.com.

- I've got to admit, I liked the Muhammad Hassan and Khasrow Davari angle with Jim Ross and Lawler on RAW. The "Arab Americans" are great with the microphone.

- Kane vs. Gene Snitsky has been added to New Year's Revolution. I've still got a feeling that Matt Hardy will get involved in this plot, maybe as the guy who hired Snitsky.
