We are back once again with WWE Christmas from Iraq! It is with great honor
that I cover this important and special Smackdown, which took place in the
Middle East this holiday season in an outdoor ring. Glad to see the WWE go back, and without any
further ado, I present WWE Christmas in Iraq!
We kick things off with the man responsible for this tremendous event, Vince
McMahon. McMahon talks about how everyone volunteered to come back, because
they wanted to see the troops. McMahon thanks the troops on behalf of the United
States. He tells the troops that they boosted their (WWE's) spirits. McMahon
talks about the negative media, and says that when he goes home, he'll tell
them that the troops said to go straight to hell. McMahon introduces our ring
announcer, Lillian Garcia. McMahon gives Lillian the mic, as she sings the
National Anthem. What a tremendous job, and on that note, I would personally like
to thank the troops for all they do. I would also like to thank the WWE, for
being brave enough and willing to travel to Iraq, just for the troops.
We come back from commercial to the troops wishing us a Happy Holiday. We then go to a video package highlighting the trip to Iraq.
Match One- Rene Dupree vs Booker T
Well Dupree comes out with the French Flag, wrong move. Before the match they thank Art Myers, the director of
entertainment for the military. Booker and Dupree lock it up, Booker gains the
advantage and Dupree is on the defensive. Dupree comes back with a low
blow to Booker. Dupree lays some boots into Booker and then the French Tickler
comes out. Booker comes back with some elbows to the mid section. Booker
regains the momentum, punches to the face of Dupree, chop, WOOOOOOO, chop,
WOOOOOOOO. Spinebuster to Dupree. Spinarooni! Kick to the mid section, scissor kick,
one-two-three.
Winner Via Pinfall- Booker T
We go to one solider's story about going back and forth to Iraq, and how when
she goes home, he goes back. These soliders make some big sacrifices, and it
can't be said enough, THANK YOU.
We get another Holiday greeting from the troops, then another video package of the WWE Superstars with the troops. A small rocket actually landed near the camp while WWE was there.
Another video package with the WWE Superstars and the troops airs. Since
WWE was there and they were attacked, they become honorary "Steele Tigers".
Santa Claus makes his way to the ring. Santa introduces his "Presents", the
WWE Divas. Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie were there for their second time, while
this was Miss Jackie's first time. The Divas along with Military personnel,
throw shirts to the troops. The Divas hug the military personnel all around
ringside. Santa calls the WWE Divas back into the ring, as he has something
special for all of them. Torrie gets a bra, Miss Jackie gets a bra, Lillian gets a
thong, Dawn gets a bottle of Gatorade, which wasn't even full since Santa was
thirsty. Santa tells Dawn that she's been naughty, and the Divas get into it.
CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! Torrie grabs the mic and says that it's not Santa
Claus, it's Mick Foley.
We go to a video package with military personnel re-enlisting in the army.
WWE thanks Creed for providing the theme music for Christmas in Iraq. They then go to another soldier who talks about not being home on Christmas for her child, a three year old, to see them open their gifts. Then they show the Apache Helicopters flying over the show.
Match Two- Heidenreich vs The Undertaker
Undertaker starts off with the heavy offense, chasing the referee out of the
ring. Punches and a boot to the face of Heidenreich. A little bit of Old
School, vintage Undertaker! Inverted DDT by the Taker, but only a two count is
received. Heidenreich comes back with some right hands to The Undertaker's face.
Undertaker battles back with some stiff punches, elbow across the throat of
Heidenreich. Leg across the throat of Heidenreich. Heidenreich whipped into the
buckles, and then dropped face first on them. Heidenreich comes back with more
jabs. Boot across the throat on Taker. Clothesline to The Undertaker. Taker
fights back with some hammering blows. The two battle back and forth and both
men are down! They both fight back to their feet, flying clothesline from the
Taker. Heidenreich into the turnbuckles and a big splash, into the buckles
again, snake eyes and a big boot to the jaw, leg drop, for the one-two-no!
TWOOOOOOOO! Undertaker calls for it, chokeslam time, but Heidenreich knees the Taker
and then bails out of the ring and tries to go through the crowd, and is
counted out.
Winner Via Count Out- The Undertaker
We go to another soldier's story, about his now ten-and-a-half-month-old son,
and his two other kids. He talks about how he is going to be home for
Christmas.
We go to yet another video package of the Superstars with the troops. The
Superstars all say how they hope there won't still be a war next year, but if there
is, they will all go back. They talk about how this trip changed their lives
forever and how they love all the troops.
After a commercial, Booker T and the troops wish us a "5x" Merry Christmas!" We then go to another video package of a Lieutenant thanking the troops and the WWE.
They also show clips of the WWE Superstars with the troops and them receiving
their coins.
Match Three- Hardcore Holly vs Kenzo Suzuki
They lock it up, shoulder block takes Kenzo down. Hard chops to Kenzo. Kenzo
comes back and takes Hardcore down and stomps on him. Clothesline takes
Harcorde down. Headlock applied on Hardcore. Holly fights out of it and takes Kenzo
down, dropkick! Holly goes to the top rope and clotheslines Kenzo. Alabama
Slam! Its over! On a side note, Holly called that week in Iraq, "The greatest
experience in his life."
Winner Via Pinfall- Hardcore Holly
We go to another solider's story about missing his daughter's birth, then come back from commercial to Torrie Wilson and the troops wishing us Happy Holidays. We then go to a video package highlighting the building of the "Arena".
JBL comes out in a Humvee with Longhorns on it. JBL comes out in a biohazard
suit. Military guards escort him to the ring. JBL says that hes a little
nervous, but he is not afraid. He talks about his conditions being atrocious and
the food they have doesn't have an "Exit strategy." He says that they need to set
up a bar. He says that last time he was there they caught Hussein and that he
is tired of doing their jobs. He also said that next time they start a war,
start it where they serve cold beer. He tells them to chant his name in a
whisper, so that the enemy doesn't know where they are. He then thanks them and
goes to leave, when The Big Show's music hit. JBL says that he just found a
weapon of mass destruction. Big Show talks about how all the Superstars are in
support of the armed forces, and that they're there to pay tribute to the troops,
not JBL. He calls JBL an "Aluminum foil wrapped pile of chicken crap." Big Show
removes the mask of JBL, JBL goes to throw a punch and Big Show beats on him,
head butts him and sends him out of the ring. Big Show even stole his cowboy
hat!
Mick Foley and the troops wish us Happy Holidays. We then go to a video package of the WWE visiting a whole bunch of different troops.
After a commercial, we come back to Rey Mysterio and the troops wishing us Happy Holidays.
We go to a video package of the WWE coming back to Iraq. Vince McMahon received a letter for his outstanding work and effort.
Match Four- Kurt Angle and Luther Reigns vs Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero
Kurt gets on the mic and says he doesn't suck, but gets cut off by Eddie
Guerrero's music. Eddie Guerrero comes out in a Humvee dressed up like a low
rider, along with Rey Mysterio who is carrying the 619 cam. Kurt and Rey lock it
up, Angle with a takedown. Rey fights back, springboard arm drag take over on
Angle, but Angle comes back and locks the arm again, tag in to Luther Reigns.
Reigns comes back and man-handles Rey Mysterio. Angle back in with boots to Rey,
but can only get a two count. Reigns back in with some clubbing blows and a
back breaker on Rey. Rey fights back with some boots to the face of Luther
Reigns. The two battle it out and both men are down. Guerrero comes in, Angle
comes in, and Guerrero takes down Angle with a series of clothesline. Reigns comes
in and he is taken down. Three Amigos to Angle, but the third suplex is
blocked, and an Angle Lock is applied, Eddie rolls through and Angle is hung up in
the ropes. Rey goes for the 6-1-9, but Reigns is taged in and Rey is
clotheslined. Angle Slam on Guerrero, Rey and Angle go to the outside, while Guerrero
and Reigns battle it out in the ring. Reigns is set up in the ropes 6-1-9! Frog
Splash connects on Reigns, but Angle breaks up the count. Angle is sent to
the outside, Rey drops the dime on Reigns and gets the three count.
Winners Via Pinfall- Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero
We then go to a video package of the trip, as the show comes to a close.
What a tremendous job the WWE did for the troops. The WWE does so much for
the fighting men and women, to make their jobs a little eaisier. The fact that
they give up their free time for such a trip is great, and if nothing else they
deserve a ton of respect. Happy Holidays everyone.
