It's the kind of Christmas present that all aspiring wrestlers dream of -- a WWE contract. For Toronto's Angel Williams, that wish has come true.
Later this week, she'll get her papers for a WWE contract. "I just got my confirmation call on Monday: 'Merry Christmas, we're signing you,'" she told SLAM! Wrestling.
Not one to take it easy, the former fitness personal trainer is home for the holidays in Toronto, but was heading to the Squared Circle Training Centre to work out Wednesday night.
It's all been a wild -- but quick -- ride for the 23-year-old. She had her first WWE tryout in June, then got the invite to do some more. In mid-November, she went to the WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and trained with Lance Storm and Bill DeMott there.
After the OVW stint, she worked a Raw and Smackdown taping in Huntsville, Alabama and Nashville, Tennessee. (She's been living in Music City since February, and has made a handfull of TNA appearances.)
The pending deal makes for a terrific gift. "It's everything I ever wanted."
