Raw: Bischoff's back but still no champ
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

He's back, maybe not better than ever, but Eric Bischoff is back from his four-week long "vacation". He has a heavy burden on his shoulders -- no Heavyweight Champion, and an angry owner who wants a decision. Let's see what happens, as Raw kicks off live from Huntsville, Al.

We kick the night off with Mr. Bischoff, along with the World Heavyweight Championship. Ah, decision time. He complains about coming back to all these new champions and a vacated championship. He speaks about how the "Tie" works. HHH, Edge and Chris Benoit cut in via the TitanTron. HHH leads the complaining, and they all join in, until things break down into a complete brawl. Wow, didn't see that coming. Bischoff then says that Edge will be taking on Randy Orton next, while his decision will be held off until later on in the night.

Match One- Edge vs Randy Orton

Edge plays a convincing heel, I am personally glad he made the turn, now if he can just capture the gold, I'll be set. They start some "You Tapped Out" Chants for Edge. They lock it up, Orton takes control with a headlock and then a toss down. The two counter each other, until Edge gets the near fall, some "You Suck" chants for Edge start up. Told you he was a good heel. The two mirror each other once again, then go into a stand off. Orton takes down Edge, then clotheslines him over the top rope.

Orton is still in control as we come back from commercial break. Orton applies a headlock on Edge, keeping the title contender grounded. Orton sends Edge to the ropes, but when he charged in at him, Edge used the ref as a shield. Orton chases Edge outside, leaving Orton prone to an attack as he slides into the ring. Edge now firmly in control, beats on the former World Champion. Edge locks in a body scissors and rear naked choke hold. Orton fights his way up to a vertical base, and hits Edge with a crossbody for the two count, double clothesline and both men are down and out. Edge gets back to his feet, he ascends the ropes, and is dropkicked as he jumped. The two once again battle back and forth with stiff punches. Dropkick to Edge, the Neck/Back Breaker from Orton gets a two count. Edge charges Orton, roll up for a two count. Edge regains the momentum, as he drops th bottom out from Orton, but can only score a two count. Backslide by Edge, feet on the ropes, but only a two count for Edge, orton counters with a roll up for a near fall and a powerslam. Orton misses a crossbody, Edge sets him up for the spear, but Orton hits him with a drop toe hold, series of reversals, RKO! One-Two-Three.

Winner Via Pinfall- Randy Orton

We go backstage to Ric Flair pumping up HHH's ego. Batista walks in, he tells HHH to show Bischoff that he should be the World Heavyweight Champion. HHH smiles as we got a commercial break. That evil Batista is planning something.

WWE shows some clips of Live Events, with fans and superstars alike, contributing their thoughts.

The WWE Divas are in the ring, what's ridiculous is that they can make these Divas do stupid jobs that waste time, but they can't spend more time exposing new talent. The Divas shoot shirts out to the crowd, wow, now I am entertained! WOOOOO HOOOO! Gene Snitsky hits the ring, YEAH! Snitsky tells the girls not to be scared. He claims that everyone on the Raw Roster is afraid of him. He mentions, Kane, Lita's Baby, yeah I'd say he's on a roll. Snitsky says he wants to shoot the gun and dance. He then chokes Christy. He says he is not having fun unless someone is suffering. Cue Lita's music. Lita pokes fun at Snitsky for picking on women. Lita strokes her ego, mentioning she is the new women's champ. Lita says that she got a message from Kane, saying that he is returning, and that he is going to beat the holy hell out of Snitsky. Snitsky goes to chase Lita, but a wall of fire comes up, he tries again, but the wall of fire comes up again. Wow a good angle for once.

They showed clips of the Blade Trinity premiere. I saw it, it was good in my opinion, worth checking out. (See bottom email address for all hate mail).

Christian is shown backstage with Tyson Tomko complaining about the Captain Charisma incident. He runs into Eugene who talks about Captain Charisma being one his favorite superheros. Christain turns around, and there stands MICK FOLEY! Eugene gets all excited and does a cheap pop, he wa and Foley walk off, then Eugene comes back for a "Bang! Bang!"

We go to Bischoff's office, where Simon Dean is signing a contract. Chris Benoit walks in, demanding that he get his rightful shot at the title, calling Bischoff spineless, the whole nine yards. Bischoff has a heavy decision to make, and these three men barging in on him are not making things better.

We go to a replay off what happened with HHH last week.

Match Two- Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit vs HHH and Batista w/ "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair

Benoit and HHH lock it up, and this match gets underway. Benoit sends "The Game" into the turnbuckles, CHOP, WOOOOOOOO, CHOP, WOOOOOOO. The two battle back and forth, until Benoit is sent back into Evolution's corner. Benoit fights off Batista and makes the tag to Jericho. Batista beats down on Jericho, and then the tag is made to HHH. HHH and Jericho lock up into the ropes. Momentum switches between Jericho and HHH. Jericho beats on HHH in the corner, Harley Race High Knee to Jericho. Batista gets back in, and he goes right to work on Jericho. Batista then used his knee to choke out Jericho, until the referee broke it up. Headlock is applied on Edge. Chops to Batista by Jericho, but Batista regains control. HHH back in the ring, punches to Jericho. Batista chokes Jericho with the tag rope. Jericho fights back, until Ric Flair throws a fit and charges the ring. WOOOOOOOOOOO!

We come back from commercial, and Chris Benoit is in control over HHH. German suplexes to HHH. Benoit takes Batista and Flair down, but misses the diving headbutt. Tag to Batista, running powerslam on Benoit, but only a two count. HHH is tagged back in, and sends Benoit into the turnbuckles with a hard Irish whip. Benoit fights back with a series of chops. Abdominal stretch is applied by HHH. Batista illegally adds pressure to the mix, by extending his hand for HHH, but the ref breaks it up. Forearms to HHH, Irish whip, but a boot to Benoit's face by HHH. Benoit comes back with a foot to the face of HHH. Batista and Jericho come in, and Jericho gains the upperhand. Jericho takes out the legs of Batista, but can't apply the Walls of Jericho on the monster. Spinebuster reversed into a roll up for Jericho only gets two, running inseguri, lionsault, HHH comes in, but is sent out. Flair gets on the apron, but is knocked off. Diving headbutt on Batista, SHARPSHOOTER! HHH comes in, but is met with the Crossface. Batista breaks up and hits Benoit with a HUGE Spine Buster for the One-Two-Three.

Winners Via Pinfall- Batista and HHH

We come back to Mick Foley! Foley plugs his new book, Tales From Wrescal Lane there you are Mr. Foley. Foley says that he will be making a temporary jump to Smackdown. A video package for the upcoming trip to Iraq is shown. Foley says that it is a great honor, and a great privilege. Foley continues to talk, but is cut off by Muhammed Haasan and his manager Divari. They cut their anti-American promo. This is getting some big heel heat, obviously. This will be interesting to watch. Foley says that he disagrees with every word Hassan said. Foley does his Huntsville, Al cheap pop. Hassan and Divari, argue with Foley. Foley says they can't shoot their mouths off in "Foley Island", aka the squared circle. Foley says they have the right to get a fist in the mouth and a boot in the ass. Hassan says that he will not wrestle Foley, because he doesn't fight a man he doesn't respect. Hassan and Divari leave, as Foley is left in the ring.

We go to clips of last week's Raw, with Lita winning the WWE Women's Championship.

We then go to Todd Grisham who is standing with Trish Stratus for an interview. He asks her how she feels about losing the title, she obviously is upset, and let's Grisham know that, before she storms off.

We then go to Bischoff's office, where he is standing with this girl, Edge barges in and tells Bischoff how he deserves the World Heavyweight Championship. Bischoff tells Edge that following the next match, he will be announcing his decision, wait, there is going to be more than two matches? WOW!

Match Three- Christian, Tyson Tomko and Maven vs Shelton Benjamin, William Regal and Eugene

Christian and Eugene start things off, Christian goes down, and Eugene pulls out Mr. Socko. Maven and Christian get hit with Airplane Spins by Eugene. Tomko comes in and beats on Eugene. Christian then chokes out Eugene with Mr. Socko. Tomko comes in and powerslams Eugene, but only for a two count. Headlock applied on Eugene. Maven comes in and beats on Eugene. Maven continues his beat down, while choking Eugene. Christian comes back in and continues the assault. Backslide by Eugene, but only for a two count. Reverse chinlock on Eugene. Shelton Benjamin comes in and beats on Maven, T-Bone on Maven, count is broken up by Christian. Socko on Christian, all the men are brawling. Superkick from Benjamin to Tomko. Maven rolls up Benjamin and gets the three count with the help of the ropes.

Winners Via Pinfall- Maven, Christian and Tyson Tomko

We go backstage to HHH and Eric Bischoff talking. HHH basically pleads to Bischoff to make sure that he is once again the World Heavyweight Champion. Bischoff says that he will take what HHH said into consideration.

We come back to Eric Bischoff, who calls out HHH, Edge and Chris Benoit. Bischoff tells HHH that he told him to come out alone, but HHH says that he and Evolution are one of a kind. He said that Benoit option of having a Triple Threat Match, was turned down. He said that Edge's option, to just hand him the title, wasn't going to work. Bischoff says that HHH and Evolution being one of a kind, was going to be put to the test. Bischoff announced that at WWE New Year's Revolution, it would be HHH, Edge, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Batista and Randy Orton fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship, inside of the Elimination Chamber! Benoit, Edge, Batista and HHH brawl in the ring. Jericho comes down and joins the brawl. As HHH is walking up the ramp, from behind comes Randy Orton, and all out hell breaks loose, with Randy Orton standing alone in the ring as Raw comes to an end.

Glad to see that with a new year, WWE is trying to improve their PPV product. Elimination Chamber, in Mexico, New Year's Revolution equals what good be a pretty good PPV. What WWE really needs to do though, is to actually make Raw a WRESTLING show, and not a talk-a-thon. Ah, some things never change, with that being said, I send you to Dale with WWE Smackdown, and the decision on who will be the Tough Enough Champion.
