Bret Hart weds in Italy

This hold hit him in the heart.

It's a different kind of ring for Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

And the former World Wrestling legend says he kind of likes the sound of it.

"Meet my wife," he says last night while out for dinner.

Friends were surprised with the news and offered congratulations.

"Yes," the Calgary native said with a giant smile, "this is Cinzia."

Turns out the couple were married in a "private" ceremony Sept. 15 in Milan, Italy, Cinzia's hometown.

Hart, who was chosen Canada's 39th Greatest Canadian in the CBC contest, told the Sun he met Cinzia two years ago in Italy.

"But we really haven't told anybody," Hart said. "My kids know, and that's all."

Cinzia said she was aware of who Hart was when they met since he, and the sport of wrestling, are well-known in Italy.

"He's great," she said, giving him a hug.

The Hitman's wedding comes after several years of trying times for him and his family. His brother Owen was killed in a wrestling accident and both his mom and dad have passed on.

Then along came a stroke, a failed first marriage and things weren't rosy for the five-time WWF champion.

But life's taken a turn for the better in recent times. "It's all up from here," he said. "I am as recovered as I am going to be from my stroke."

He said he's enjoying the challenge of acting on the stage and hopes to do more. Hart is in Toronto until the end of the year starring as Genie of the Lamp in Aladdin: The Magical Family Musical at the Elgin Theatre.

Once the show dates are completed, he and his new bride will spend the winter in Italy before deciding on his next venture.
