Smackdown: A Show of pain

With Survivor Series only days away, that question
on everyone's mind -- or at least this reporter's -- is,
'Are there enough wrestlers left to hold a PPV?'
Smackdown! is still on the air, so I guess the answer
is yes. I'm also wondering, if the Tough Enough
contest was just stopped for no reason, would anybody
care?
Speaking of Tough Enough, the wannabes kick off
the show, again, from Corpus Christi, Texas. (Can you
name the Toronto Maple Leaf from Corpus Christi?
Sorry, I REALLY miss the NHL.) Anyway, today we have
the Torrie Wilson sex test. Two girls from the Jay
Leno show, whom I've never heard of, are also in the
ring. Before the contest starts Al Snow is going to
cut someone, based on the fans' vote. But first, Snow
asks Chris Nawrocki if he wants to quit, because of a
broken rib. He says no, and Al goes on with the
elimination. Nick Mitchell is cut. Oh, well. Torrie
struts to the ring, and tells the boys that they get
to make out with a WWE Diva for 15 seconds. Then the
Diva will choose the best lover. BAIT AND SWITCH! BAIT
AND SWITCH! If these guys think they are making out
with Torrie or Dawn Marie, they are in for a rude
awakening. On that note, bring out Mae Young and
Fabulous Moolah. I'll spare you the details, but the
'lucky' winner is Daniel Puder. He then gets a lap
dance from Mae.
Rey Mysterio meets up with Chavo Guerrero in front
of his locker room. We over hear Chavo yelling at
someone. Mysterio asks him about it, and Chavo just
brushes it aside.
Match #1 - Billy Kidman and Spike Dudley vs.
Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio
This sort of a preview for SS as all four men will
face each other in a fatal four-way for the
cruiserweight title. Spike and Chavo face off first,
Chavo controls the match early one. Locking in an
armbar after a body slam. Rey tags in, and almost
scores a pin. Mysterio is whipped into the corner, and
Spike tags in Kidman. Mysterio hits a head scissors
from off the top turnbuckle, and Chavo tags in. Spike
interferes, and Kidman is able to connect with a drop
kick. Spike tags in, and knocks Chavo out of the ring.
Kidman tags advantage, and tosses Chavo back in.
Kidman gets the tag, and locks in a rear chin lock.
Chavo fights off a double team, and then tags in
Mysterio, who hits a double cross body on the heel
team. A head scissors sends Kidman into the ropes, but
Spike breaks up the 619. Mysterio recovers, as Spike
ducks a seated senton, but it connects with Kidman.
Mysterio sets up Spike for the 619, and then gets the
pin with a splash off the top rope.
Winner via pin fall: Chavo Guerrero and Rey
Mysterio
Orlando Jordan tracks down Josh Matthews back
stage. Jordan says he respects him, and so does JBL.
He then slaps him around a little, after Matthews
pulled away from a handshake.
Matthews is in Teddy Long's office with Booker T.
Matthews meekly says he wants to face Jordan, but he
wants Booker T in his corner. Long grants him the
match.
Big Show, RVD, and Eddie Guerrero talk about their
upcoming match, and who will be the fourth member of
their SS team.
It's Raw Rebound time. I read Nick Tylwalk's report every Tuesday. Why? Because, I would rather
watch Monday Night Football then Monday Night Raw.
Match #2 - Orlando Jordan w/ JBL vs. Josh
Matthews w/ Booker T
Jordan looks confident in the ring, even before
Matthews makes his way to the ring. Jordan then mocks
Matthews to start the match. Matthews jumps on him,
and Orlando just deposits him on the top turnbuckle.
Jordan goes for a cross body, but Jordan catches him.
Matthews rolls out of the ring, and hides behind
Booker. Matthews re-enters the ring. Matthews is shot
off the ropes, and JBL trips him up. Jordan then
tosses Matthews across the ring, and then into the
corner. Jordan slaps on a rear naked choke, but
Matthews is able to wriggle out. Jordan kicks out of a
roll up, and Matthews is clothes lined. Booker T jumps
in, knocking Jordan into the ref. Matthews hits a low
blow, and Booker finishes Jordan off with a scissors
kick. Booker drags Matthews onto Jordan, and the ref
recovers to count 1-2-3.
Winner via pin fall: Josh Matthews
Match #3 - Eddie Guerrero and RVD vs. Mark
Jindrak and Luther Reigns
Carlito Caribbean Cool and his buddy come to
ringside, and then CCC joins Cole and Tazz at ringside.
Jindrak and RVD start off. RVD hits Jindrak with an
elbow, and follows with a split-legged moonsault.
Reigns tags in and takes RVD to task. RVD fights back,
and tags in Eddie, who flies over the top rope to land
on Reigns. Eddie is planted by Reigns, and then hit
from behind by Jindrak. We return from break to find
Guerrero kicking out of a pin. Eddie fights out of a
Jindrak hold, and is able to tag in RVD. RVD hits a
monkey flip, and then jaws with CCC on the outside.
Jindrak hits a distracted RVD with a drop kick, and
then Reigns kicks him on the outside. Reigns tags in,
and hits RVD with a back breaker. He follows by
chocking RVD on the ropes. Jindrak tags, and hits a
series of elbows. RVD hits a DDT on Reigns, and is
able to tag Eddie in. Guerrero hits a head scissors on
Jindrak. Reigns tags him self in, and then RVD takes
out Jindrak with a kick. Guerrero hits the 'three
amigos' on Reigns, while RVD hits rolling thunder on
Jindrak. RVD takes out CCC on the outside, while Jesus
pulls Guerrero off the turnbuckle. CCC and Jesus are
tossed from ringside, when Eddie faked getting hit
with a chair. Back in the ring, Reigns falls victim to
a double DDT. With both heels down, RVD and Guerrero
climb the turnbuckles, and hit a frog splash on Reigns
and Jindrak. RVD and Jindrak are the legal men, and
RVD gets the pin.
Winner: Rob Van Dam & Eddie Guerrero
After the match Eddie Guerrero gets on the mike
and announces who will be the fourth member of his
team. It's John Cena!
Carlito cries to Teddy Long about John Cena being
added to Guerrero's team. Long doesn't seem to care,
in fact, Long all but accuses Jesus of stabbing Cena.
Al Snow brings out the Tough Enough boys. I am
starting new campaign, ala P. Diddy, except my slogan
is 'VOTE and DIE!' That's right, if I find out you
voted, I will track you down a kill you. If we don't
vote, it shows we don't care.
Cole and Tazz talk with the champ. JBL says Booker
T has no advantage over him. In fact, JBL vows that he
will leave Smackdown! if he loses to Booker T. JBL
says he will become a financial analyst and write
more books. I think he'll go to RAW.
Paul Heyman runs to the announce table to defend
Heidenreich, who is being skewered by Cole and Tazz.
Heyman shoves Cole, and Tazz stands up. Heyman makes
for the ring, and is joined by Heidenreich. Tazz takes
off his jacket and heads to the ring, when the lights
go out. The lights come up, and Heidenreich is face to
face with the Undertaker. Heyman tries to hold
Heidenreich back, and Heyman is able to talk
Heidenreich down without an incident.
Match #5 - Kurt Angle vs. Big Show
Angle comes to the ring with his entire team in
tow. Angle runs his mouth before the match, and vows
to injure him. RVD and Eddie Guerrero come out to even
up the odds. Angle is reluctant to get in the ring.
Angle enters the ring, as Jindrak jumps on the apron.
Show goes oafter Jindrak, and Angle kicks him in the
leg. Show breaks the hold from Angle. He follows with
a chop to Angle's chest. Big Show dominates Angle,
even stepping on him. Show keeps chopping Angle's
chest. Angle slaps on a rear chin lock. Jindrak
interferes, and Eddie pulls him out. Carlito then
takes out RVD and Guerrero with Cena's chain. Back in
the ring, Angle slaps on the ankle lock. Show rolls
out, and head butts Angle. Show tosses him into the
corner, and charges him. Show hits a leg drop, and
tries to follow up with a chokeslam. Angle's team hits
the ring, and delivers a chop block to Show. All three
men lock in submission moves, and leave Show writhing
in the ring.
Winner by DQ: Big Show
