Three more cut from WWE roster
JASON CLEVETT -- SLAM! Wrestling
The WWE roster continues to get thinner, as WWE.com has announced the release of Gail Kim, Nidia and Chuck Palumbo.
It's surprising that the two Divas were released as both have been used a great deal on TV recently. Gail Kim assisted Trish Stratus on RAW Monday night to attack Lita. Many fans are probably questioning why two people who love wrestling and have some talent were released when Carmella and Christy from the Diva Search are both working for the company.
Nidia was the female winner of the first Tough Enough competition alongside Maven and was used mostly in a valet role alongside Jamie Noble. When moved to the RAW brand she took on a more active in-ring role.
Gail Kim is a Toronto native who was trained by Ron Hutchison and competed as 'La Felina' before being signed by WWE. She won the WWE Women's Championship in a Battle Royal on June 30th, 2003 in her TV debut. She has frequently teamed with Trish Stratus and Molly Holly as a heel trio.
Chuck Palumbo was one of the WCW stars whose contract was purchased. His biggest fame in the WWE was teaming with Billy Gunn in a gay themed tag team. Since they split up he was barely used as a member of the Full Blooded Italians. He was working house shows this past weekend.
The trio's release comes just days after the company released Albert, Billy Gunn and Test.
